got the center section glued up last night, along with painting and gluing up the outboard wing halves.
The center section fit to the fuse is horrific however and will need some serious tlc.

Hi All.

The progress so far on the 48 scale Mk I Swordfish, the cockpit has an Eduard Zoom set fitted the wing and other rigging is not the Tamiya set.

All enamels on this bird are from the Model Master range.

update time,
i spent the last 2 days on and off fitting the verlinden wing fold plates , lots of plastic thinning , i've also sanded the cowling smooth as hasegawa had done a bad job of mating two bits together.

hopefully i'll get lots more done this weekend...

Update-old-
got the main assembly painted in silver:

The hit it with yellow chromate after a salt treatment

Added Brake lines and retraction springs to the MLG

Forgot to mention i cut down the MLG oleo to a scale length and added new scissors to it as well.

I've been traveling a LOT lately but am home for a long time, hope to finish up the main section soon

I've made a little progress on my Seahawk. I'm taking the easy route and using the Wolfpack Designs resin wingfold set. It's an improvement over the kit parts and easy to use.

Rob, that swordfish is fantastic.
Shawn, your Corsair is looking good. I've never been able to get the salt technique to work out the right way for me, but you seem to have mastered it. Really nice so far.

As proof that I am indeed back at the workbench after a 3 month breake, here is an update of my A-7. Not much different than the last update pic. I have managed to locate the fuel tank on the RIGHT pylon at least.
Hope to have her in a flat coat by the weekend.

got some time on sunday to sit down (finally) and work on the wing root details, got one side almost done and the other is on its way.

pics soon

this was my first time with the salt technique, happy so far but DONT do what I did.

silver
CLEAR COAT (forgot this)
salt
primer coat

since i didn't clear the silver, when I scotch brighted the primer to knock the salt off and thin the edges it also wore through the silver...oh well.

well........
i did a topcoat only to find it didn't look right, infact it was totally the wrong blue(it looked fine on the scrap i'd done), so today i've cleaned the whole thing back to the primer coat.

i've bought some different paint and i'm gonna hope this comes out the right shade of blue.

Well after a nearly 4 month absence from the workbench I've finallly started to work again. And I've done something I haven't done since early 2010.......I finished a model.

The picture quality is not great, but hey, I was excited about finishing this baby and couldn't wait until tomorrow to do it outside.

Thanks Justin!
I'm glad to see her finished too. Some of you sharper eyed guys might notice that there is no refueling probe on the right side......well, it went missing sometime over the months and I just didn't feel like scratchbuilding another.
