Hi all.

I'll make a start this week on AM's IL-2.

This will be my first AM build (got this and two others at a recent sale). Build reviews look great so I can't wait to get started.

Hi guys. What I did 'till now - and please, this is not for the fainthearted and nice-builders, so don't try this at home:

This is about eight hoours in.
I basically slapped together the whole kit. I'm gonna do the cockpit after the whole outer paintjob. I tried it once with a speedbuild on an Alanger Yak 9dd and it didn't turn out too badly...
Seams are checked, only a few touch-ups with zapagap.
The ordinance (this is how you spell it?) is glued but not cleaned, undercarriage is already painted ('cause I did some white-coats on some other undercarriages...).

For other skyraider-builders: the kit can take A LOT of abuse and turns out nice. Just check the dihedral, I'm not shure about it and some French guy on hyperscale... oh, well, I blathering.

Any questions, comments, criticisms: go!

There's many ways about it and of course I do use aires and the likes on bigger projects. But watch this:

That one i forgot about: a Tamiya Mossie i did on a weekend. Yes, the pit's not shaded, shure, it's a little bland and 'course, no seatbelt (hoah...) but do'n't it look ok at two feet? And remember, this was done after everything else is sprayed, weathered and sealed, so not a lot of masking, really speedy.
Well: usable for a fast, clean build. Methinks...

As long as its primary function was ground attack, then yes no problem

Ok I started on mine, I'm doing Roden OV-1D Mohawk. It's a OOB build and will be using the 2nd Military Intelligence Battalion from Desert Storm, 1991 based out of Al Qaysumah, Saudi Arabia.

I'll be posting pics over the weekend.

Happy Modeling,
Joe

Would you consider a Bf 110 for the CAS campaign?

Im sorry , but I have to say no...the Bf 110 was designed as an escort fighter, not for ground attack..

Hello Jim,
I agree with you the BF 110 was used as a escort fighter and also a night fighter. A replacement might be the JU 88 or the Stuka both were used as an attacked plane.

Jim,
PM sent.

Bruce

Here’s where I’m at, basic model finished and painted followed up with an oil wash. Overall the kit was a pleasure to built with only a canopy fit issue. It’s pretty much built out of box with the exception of adding on ejection seat harness’s

More to follow.

Happy Modeling,
Joe

I started my entry yesterday. I will be building a skyraider as well. I just can't help it but they are just bad-ass. I will try to post pictures tonight as it is coming along nicely i think. Although I havent built a AC in over 10 Years!!! I have been doing only armor......

Nice progress on the OV-1 Mohawk, Joe. I am impressed by your washes as always.

The A-10 looks good, Justin. A real beast!

Hey guys, there's some super work going on in this Campaign, some real treetop-hugging madness.

Jim, I got a start on my little 1/48 Monogram Tweet last night, nothing much to report, just some sub-assemblies and parts clean-up. It will be a strictly OOB build, with all of the Campaigns I have going at the moment I couldn't go too crazy on AM or scratch

Cheers, D

Hi

Without wanting to put a spanner in the works here but the ME110E was a dedicated fighter-bomber, would that not be acceptable in this campaign?
Also what about bombed up P47's and Beaufighters, or even FW190F/G?

thanks
Mike
