No problem, I just got the kit so it was in my zone of attention. I'll have a look around for another option. Most of my fixed wing kits are WW2 so ground attack is largely fighter bombers. I have a gaggle of attack helos, I'll see if any of them can get me hot and bothered.

Leo: Nice work mate! I'm going to be adding one of these puppies to my collection after seeing your build, which isn't even finished
Jim: I'm not adverse to building a Stuka if you really want to see one. I haven't picked out a project yet, so let me know

There will be a rotte of Stukas in this campaign I am building the D-7/8 version, but have not decided on the camouflage and load yet.
What version wil you build, Jeremy? Have you decided on the camouflage? It will be interesting to follow your build.

Jesper: Not sure yet, but I'm leaning towards a 1/32 Hasegawa kit.. any thoughts on this? And do you have a build log for your D7/8?
Posted: Thursday, October 14, 2010 - 09:28 PM UTC
It going to be a big bird, Jeremy.
I am building the Revell/monogram kit in 1/48 and have not started yet, so unfortunently no build log.
However, here are some reviews that might help you decide:
Ju-87G-2 review
Ju-87G-2 review 1
Ju-87G-2 review 2
Ju-87D review
Looking forward to see what you choose

So we're good for a JU87G ?
Posted: Friday, October 15, 2010 - 01:05 AM UTC
Well, we are good for a Ju-87D in 1/48. Jeremy might join with a 1/32 example (G or D?).
Paul, you can join with another. You can never have too many Stukas for CAS
This is my kit.

I am liking those Trumpeter kits, and 1/32 is probably more accommodating to my unrefined skills atm. I don't have a preference for any particular variant, the deciding factor will be cost for me.

@Leo: Skyraider is looking great, just load up the ordinance and hope that the FAC does his job!
@ Jesper, is there a 'What if?' campaign starting or is that just nostalgia??? (if there is a 'Wha if?' sign me the hell up!)

Looking great guys
@ Eoin : Ive got a What If propsal thread started (the banners should link to it) I need a few more people (around 3) to say they are interested in the thread before I can submit the idea for a campaign Looking starting mid next year as there are already a lot of campaigns kicking off March next year
after seeing the skyraider Ive got an urge to dig me second one out and has a bash at it

Hi folks,
The NAM era CAS jets are really coming along- great camo effect on the Dragonfly Damian.
Here's a sitrep on the IL-2:
Primed with Halfords auto primer can. Went on fine but I had to hold the can back a fair bit. It still requires a fair bit of sanding to bring down the milliput and to smooth out the fuselage.
Rough, handpainted pre-shading. I was getting a bit impatient but hopefully it should work. I don't know if the one application of pre-shading will do or if I should go over the lines again... Any thoughts welcome. I won't be spraying until next weekend at the earliest.

Leo,
The Skyraider looks excellent! Impressive bomb load! Those tunnels would be dug a tad deeper after seeing one of those come over the horizon!
