Thanks Bob, I'm going to have a go at the base as well. I've filled the hole for the Airfix logo and will sand it down this weekend, then I think I'll go for a Chrome finish on it.
I just need to sort out the Omani scheme as it's two tone grey but the instructions say unknown shade to one of the greys. Plus it was fitted with an extra set of pylons for Sidewinders.

@Luciano: Hunters aren't really my thing but Jaypee is right that display will indeed be impressive.
Well here are a couple of shots of my almost completed Tempest. All I need to do is touch up a few areas of the paint work weather it and then seal in all that Hawker goodness!
Cheers
Chris

Coming along nicely Chris. I'll admit that the Tornado/Typhoon and Tempest are the only Hawker / Camm designs that I'm not kean on.
Working nights so no progress at the moment, so roll on Monday so I can get stuck into my Hunters.

@ John: I would be also looking forward to seeing a Nimrod here .
Was Sir Sidney Camm also involved in the Comet´s/Nimrod´s design? Sorry for my dumb question...
@ Luciano: well, your Hunter display solves t h e big question when building a Hunter: "What version do I build?"
Is this base available seperately from Airfix?
The last picture of your Hunter originals: is that an Indian Hunter? Looked like an Italian Hunter at first...
@ Chris: Nice! That´s what a Tempest should look like! I like the Tempest, it has just such a, ehhhm, late war touch which I can not really put in words
Servus,
Sebastian

@Seb there are no dumb questions, No a Hawker Nimrod is a naval version of the Fury. A biplane of similar but separate design size to the Fury.
Added a few details to the cockpit, pre-oil pump, throttle switches, trim wheels time to stop messing about and get the fuselage zipped up and decals printed.

Sebastian,
To your first question yes the base is available from Airfix direct at £3.99, the Hunters are Revell. Airfix also do a double stand which is designed for their dogfight double range, see picture below of what I did for another campaign again all in 1/144
Your second question, it is in deed an Indian Air Force Hunter of the 'Banners' target tug squadron.
The supports have been cleaned up and painted, like wise the hole for the Airfix logo has been filled.

@ John: thanks for the info about the Nimrod... I´have read the Wikipedia article. This plane was new to me! But great choice. A classic biplane design!

Zipped up. I predict some sanding and filling. lots of sink marks on the fuselage.
Measures up pretty well to the scale plans in the mushroom book. Wingtips slightly out and the nose slightly squat but still captures the Camm look. airelons match photos but the plans don't, could be the plans are wrong.
This is my wee side project over at Hyperscale it is the first kit I ever built, nearly thirty years ago.

Okay all done! Here it is my Tempest finished in all its hawker Goodness! Decals weren't as thin as I would have liked and didn't settle down to well although I think I might be to blame for not having a perfectly gloss coat for them to set on. Still looks the job though! And I'm pleased with how it turned out. Now I definitely want the profipack version of this kit! LOL my A.M.S. gets worse! Keep up the good work guys your projects look positively awesome!

Chris nice work
John-Paul, I took a few pictures of the Nimrod at Duxford last weekend, would you like me to forward them on to you?

Yes please. Very kind.
The lindberg kits wings have slowed me down. The fabric detail is nice but the lower wings have large troughs and ridge mainly due to swirls in the silver plastic.
I've been filling/sanding/filling sanding to get them smooth at least. Lost most of the detail off them though. Nothing a bit of scribing wont fix though.
Shot primer at the poor thing last night so will see how it looks this evening.
Looking forward to the painting. Silver, yellow, fuselage and dark earth/green wings.
Might try and spray the the roundels too.

Nice one Chris. Could you post a photo with a plain background?
I'd like to make a timeline of Camm designs for an Aeroscale article.
So far we have a Fury, Hurri's, Sea Fury, Typhoon, hunters
Need a harrier and maybe a Tempest.
Will pick out the Hasegawa 1/72 Harrier outta the stash, and do a quick OOB on it.
Anything else we are missing?

Hi Guys!
Just as an aside how the heck do I post my finished projects pic into the gallery? If someone could PM me and let me know? I'm sorry guys but I just can't seem to find the link (if there is one?) And I so don't want to miss out on my campaign badge!
Cheers
Chris

You'll not miss out. Don't worry.
The campaign gallery is here.
http://gallery.kitmaker.net/showgallery.php/cat/26445
There is a login link top right. Then you can upload photos.
I appreciate it if you do this as it make my job a little easier when rewarding ribbons.
Thanks for the snaps.
Re-read the thread and my previous post.
We've got typhoon, and tempest but no sea fury. Damo reckoned on that nice blue one though.

Giday Chris.
Go to the Camm-paign Gallery HERE and make sure that you are logged in (top RH corner).
Once you are logged in a tag will appear (again in the top RH corner, beside the login button) to upload photo's. It should be fairly self-explanatory from there. When you upload to the Campaign galleries the pic is also uploaded to your own private gallery.
Let me know how you go.
Cheers, D
Edit . Tomcat, Jaypee and I posted simultaneously, best you follow Tomcats instructions, he is higher up the food chain than me and JP

Stuck some BMF on to simulate the polished metal panels.
In-laws arrived this evening so didn't get to the paint shop. But slowly we are getting there. Rubbish photo low light with the camera phone but you get the idea.

Hi All,
I'm building this kit for the Camm-paign:
It's a very simple kit:
I am planing to paint it in these markings repressenting a plane from No' 20 Squadron, RAF Tengah, 1962.
Little bit of progress:
More to follow soon!
Thanks,
Philip.

Gotta love the Hunter.

Correct JP, I'm gunna shelve the Tiffie and crack on with the Blue Fury in Aussie markings. Flat black interior, monotone exterior, a few details to pick out in metallics, with some luck and a strong following breeze I'll get it done in time.
Cheers, D

I wanted to do the Sea Fury but my kit wont be here in time to complete it! Maybe I can find another campaign to work it into! I'm interested in seeing how your hunter turns out Philip! (or should we call you phil?) LOL get your model on boyo!
Cheers
