Wow, great models everyone
I have only painted the wheel whels since my last priming update
But fortunately, it's an easy build (Academy P-40C 1/48 O.O.B. )
Cheers Nick

@ Thanks Bud.
These early WW2 planes would have still been kept immaculate as the USA was still not in the war. All I did was a little paint wear around the cockpit etc.
Oh, and the mystery of the disappearing canopy has been solved. It was in my spray booth after being painted and I overlooked it when I folding the booth up to put it away. I found it again when I got the booth out to paint the interior of my Dragon Bf110 and found the canopy sitting in the booth with a slight modification, it was split in half due to being crushed in the booth.
Thanks to Bob for the kind offer to replace the canopy but the crack is so clean I glued the canopy together and you can hardlt see the crack unless you are up very close. So the canopy is on and it will remind me every time I look at the model of what an IDIOT I can be..

OK, that's her after coming home.
Small parts:
Whites will be masked soon and painting can begin in earnest.

Rebilda - Looking great. So the question I have is why do you choose to mask the cockpit and paint the canopies seperately as opposed to attaching the canopy and painting the thing as a whole?
Every time I try to mask off the cockpit - something pulls off when I remove the masking.

Hi all,
Nice looking scheme there Rebilda!
Just dropping in to let you know that I have finished my P-40N Sharkmouth lastweek just in time for my Local club Show (I got a silver for it). I'll post some pics tonight when I get home from work.
Mark.

Ok I'm back with some pics, quality is poor due to the bad light.
This was built with an Ultracast resin seat and I used decals from the Zots decal sheet.
i hope you like it.

I am going to use the old Otaki kit and am wondering what cockpit colours do I use. The instructions state, instrument panel black, floor boards wood, rest green. Is this correct or do I need to alter anything. Thanks in advance.

@ Nick: nice to see that you finished your build.
@ D: HEY! now you have a place to sit while you build the rest of the a/c BTW nice interior office.
@ Trevor: The Otaki kit is a good build the seat is the only after market item that I would purchase. As for painting the interior: Apple Green on everying but the instrument panel which is flat black. The floor I am not sure if it was wood or the top of the wing, maybe some one else can answer that.

Thanks Bob!
I might attempt to do two more P-40s, one with the skull and the one with the tiger head. I will include them in my future projects within the next 5 years
