Peter your Moskito, looks great! It probably was a good thing for the allied air offensive at night that this bird didn't see production. I believe the glue which bonded the wood together for the wings was actually corrosive, wasn't it?
Thanks Russell, at least my glue worked on my model :-)
Yes, the first glue worked fine, but the factory was bombed and the substitute product proved disastrous.
Jakob, your swedish Mosquito looks excellent, great job!!

Hi Michael ..... none whatsoever still getting "The category you chose for this photo can't contain photos." I've gone through the help file and that was no "help" at all! I'm logged in .... I've also discovered I can't even load pics into to my personal albums on the site! Have I been a bad modeller and the admins are exacting a terrible penance? LOL who knows???? I certainly don't .... help anybody?

Cheers Rob.

The frantic rush to the finish line is a whole lot of hurry up and wait right now. I just applied another swab of Microsol over the F-82 tail fin decals which are not snuggling as quickly as I would like. I am hoping to make it in time but at this point am honestly not sure, and would rather do it right than do it quickly. Fingers crossed that they will be laying down nicely when I get home from work later.
Jakob, beautiful Mosquito. What kit were you working from again? I have the Tamiya one I am planning to do for the DeHavilland campaign and hope mine turns out that nice.

Thanks Van! I realized now that I got a little confused regarding which kit I used. For the cockpit from Aires I used the NF MK.2 cockpit which I modified. The kit itself is the Tamiya NF.XIII/XVII number TA60765 which is a very nice. As the nose came as a separate piece my guess is that the fuselage, wings and engines are the same for all mosquitos.

Still not totally settled down, hopefully tonight the final decal side will go on. Fingers crossed otherwise this thing is destined for the Hanger Queen campaign for final assembly.

Last decals go on tonight as I am satisfied with how this side has settled down. I like to keep the drying side laying flat face up while it cures because I've ran into wrinkling problems more often when gravity is allowed to take effect too soon in the wrong direction. It is a frustratingly slow process with these rather thick decals from the Monogram kit.

Looks awesome!
Neat colour contrast makes it a very striking scheme.

OK,
I think I can finally put the fuse together.
I got the seatbelts in for the pilot and fitted the instrument panel then got the guns and gun bay painted.
Cheers Rob.

Not to be mean, but did this campaign not end on June 30? Just curious, or did it get extended?

The rush is on indeed. I need to be done by Saturday to make the deadline since I'm going to be busy all day Sunday.
Slathering on the Solvaset on this side, hopefully it will look better after one day than the other side did. I switched out the water for hot water from the faucet between every decal and already they seem to be conforming better. Only time will tell for sure, time to play the waiting game!
If all goes well I can seal this Twin Stang up on Friday, but so far all my anticipated dates have been a little aggressive.

The F-82F is almost out of the hanger. Added the empty underwing pylons last night, as well as did the propeller stencils and touched up the tail fin decals along the rudder joint. It will be ready to seal with MM semi-gloss clear lacquer from a rattle can tonight.

The Twin Mustang was sealed last night and I can smell the finish line. I just did some light weathering around the aileron and rudder joints. Off to the LHS soon to see about some light gloss blue to touch up the edges of the tail fins and wingtips, otherwise it's just about done. Pictures to come tonight.

It's done.
I attached the landing gear to the Twin Stang about 90 minutes ago, once the CA glue sets for a little longer I will flip it for campaign gallery photos!
But for now, it's time for a beer. I earned it.
Whew!

Hi,
i was a bit over optimistic about finishing my Ju88 onetime
There's always the Hangar Queen campaign. It would be a terrible shame not to finish it after all the hard work you've done.
