What if we had a lottery campaign. With a list of aircraft and/or themes. Say twenty themes. Non-repeating. So if fifteen members joined only fifteen would be used. If 25 members joined 5 would be used twice.
"Raypalmer's Randomizer"
-"Take a Chance (Vought that is...)"
-"Sopwith you??"
-"Just a Mirage..."
-"Polish Planes and the pilots who ply them"
-"Stupendous Supermarines sans Spitfires"
-"Zero in on fun!"
-"CANT fight this feeling"
-"Oh de Vichy!"
-"Red Star Recon!"
-"Yellow Wings of the USN"
-"Fokker.."
-"Luftwaffe Luggers"
-"Supersonic Soviet"
-"Made in Japan"
-"I Spad in your general direction"
-"Fleet Air Arm Flops and Failures"
-"Wish you were here" or "Missed Opportunities"
-"CATOBAR!"
-"Floaters"
-"Neutral Colours"
I think its a fun idea. Plus it would get people doing things they may not otherwise have done.

Sounds like a super fun idea Ray, enlisting in a Campaign with no idea what I have to build. I'd put my hand up to join for sure.

An excellent idea! Count me in, and when the time comes, tell me what I'm going to build.

I see no reason to rush this one out. I'm eternally swamped myself so time is an issue. There's lots of good campaigns on the books right now. We just need to keep it in the back of our minds for when there's a break in the weather so to speak.

You can count me in!
One question though, are you saying that however many themes get used (you mentioned 15-25), would we pick from that list, or is it randomly decided and we get told what our theme is? I hope that makes sense!

I've been thinking about this– it's a great idea.
How about taking it one step further, and everyone who signs up donates a kit, which gets randomly assigned to one of the other people on the campaign?

nice idea, but with members scattered all over the world and international shipping costs what they are, i'd rather buy a kit than pay for shipping for one already purchased.

Oh no it's a gamble:) I figured when the time came I'd mete them out using a deck of cards.

Well, with a large time frame and feasible start and end dates I would give it a try, just because it is such a good idea. However, first half of this year will be (again ) devoted to some house renovation work

Well I'm glad this is getting a good response. Once I got my brain going on it I couldn't stop. There's about a hundred more categories filed away up there now.

Looks like we've got ourselves a ballgame!
Admins, my humble request is to be "The Arbiter of Fate," and assign themes based on drawing out of a hat or something.

That's fine as you are the campaign leader you would need to do this with you being responsible for the campaign.
Don't forget you still need to submit the campaign for approval before we can do our admin things to make it a live campaign
