The major decals are on and it's looking much more like an airplane
I'll let those dry and then get started on umpty-zillion tiny white stencils...

It's done with a week to spare! I was worried for a bit that I wouldn't get this one finished in time
More images in the gallery.

it's pretty good for detail but the fit could be better. The wing to fuselage fit is especially nasty and needs considerable work.

@Jessie:- Well you seemed to handle it well Jessie and the finished product looks good and the detail is nicely brought out.
Here are some progress pics of the TA-4 I'm just about there I was going to put a weapons load out on it but from what I've seen they mostly flew with just the centreline tank. So I'll leave it at that, just need to do a little weathering and then it's a mat coat and remove the masking then we're done with just a little time to spare!

The greyish/blue lumps under the wing are blue tac to hold the undercarriage doors in place till the glue drys.
@Winston:- Awesome Uhu Winston I must say I like the look of the kit, detail for Africa! Right down to individual pistons in the motor the things that could be done with that alone, the mind boggles!

Thanks Great to be done, I loved the kit but it took forever I spent far more time painting than building. Thanks all.

Hi Everyone.
Marvellous builds one and all!
The Skua is at the paint stage and the medium grey has been applied where required. Am waiting for it to dry over a few days as I have to mask parts of it and I don't want paint coming off with the masking tape..
Cheers everyone and keep up the great work,
Warren

If I hadn't watched you put the markings together I'd swear that they're from an aftermarket sheet. That is without doubt the most impressive Hawkeye I've seen in quite a while. Would you be willing to submit it for a feature article?

Well......
Had a bit of a mishap
Seems a bottle of CA tipped over while I was out shopping

now I managed to clean up all the CA but my cast parts did not survive intact and as the mold for the cockpit part got damaged I will have to start over.
At least the bulkhead made it.
Cheers Rob.

I echo the previous sentiments, awesome work on the hawkeye Dave the scheme turned out quite stunning! I look forward to seeing the finished article on the build.
Damn shame about the CA leak Rob, here's hoping you can resurrect or replace the damaged parts
Well after a little detail painting and weathering my TA-4G is done, the decals aren't quite correct (TA-4K as opposed to TA-4G) but they're close. I really do like the look of the two tone grey scheme and the Kiwi roundels set it off nicely. I've since discovered the lighter of the greys needs to be a bit more blue but otherwise quite a satisfying build. Not a bad level of detail on the outside but the cockpit needs a resin aftermarket detail set or a lot of scratch built parts. Something I wasn't planning on doing this time. I'll save that for one the the four Classic Airframes kits I have to build and turn them into some Ta-4K's and at least another G!
Well having said that here are some pics to look at and I'm off to upload to the gallery!

The Kiwi has wings! Speaking of which, should the port side Kiwi face aft like that?

@Dave - Well done Sir, that Hawkeye is an absolute show stopper!
@Rob - Bad luck on the spill, there's nothing worse when you've put the extra effort into making your own parts. I hope that it is salveageable.
