Hi everyone I have finally completed my HML 1/48 Blohm und Voss Bv138, many thanks to Richard for the extra time to finish and the campaigh ribbon awarded.
I'll let the pics speak for themselves ;-

Please excuse the lump of 'blue-tak' under the rear fuselage, it was the only way to balance it!! Figure is added to give some idea of the size.
Well shall I join another campaign?????

Cheers Andy

That BV-138 is a really cool, interesting build, Andy. Very well done; a pleasure to see completed.

Wonderful! I'm very glad to see it finished too.

There's lots of interesting campaigns to choose from... what do you fancy?

Great build, Andy. Fantastic finish. It has the feel of a seaplane and an aircraft that is often in water.

One to be proud of!!

Well done Andy. That's an awesome model of a very weird looking aeroplane.

Hoping to have my Walrus finished this week, I've not forgotten it.

And the painting is done. Got a bit of touching up to do but nothing major.

Not sure about those colours on the lower wing though, but it's too late for a re-paint. Might have to go through my photo's and see if I have any of the FAA's Walrus when I visited a year or so ago.

I finished decalling last week, but never got round to taking any photos. Most of last weekend and this week has been spent filling in application forms for a couple of jobs I was interested in and making up a prop Hithhikers Guide to the Galaxy. The school I work at took part in World Book Day, so I went as Arthur Dent. So a busy few days.
Anyway, here's how the Walrus looks at this point.

Should be a bit quieter next week so hopefully I will have it finished.
Thanks for bearing with me.

The end is in sight!

Luckily the wings and struts have lined up more or less correctly, something I consider to be a minor miracle. The inboard struts were too short so I've had to make those up from rod. It needs a little tidying up and some paint touch ups and then I'll attach the last fiddly bits.

I'll be glad to see the back of this one. I find most other matchbox kits simple and easy to build, they usually make for a nice relaxing project. But not this one, easily one of the worst I've tried.
I think I've earned the right to build the new tool Airfix Dornier after this.

Well, better late than never, here's my entry Supermarine Walrus Mk.1 from HMS Victorious, British Pacific Fleet 1945.

I'll upload pics into the gallery asap.
It's been a great campaign with lots of very interesting entries.

Great build, Stephen. The matchbox Walrus is one of the only kits I have had to completely give up on in modern times. Simply could not get the engine and wings aligned.

You made a fantastic result. Thanks for sharing:)

Cheers.

It's not my best effort I admit, but not the best kit I've ever tried either. Still, it's another bipe completed and I certainly still need experience with those.

Thank you, Richard and Michael for a great campaign. I had a lot of fun doing the Do 24 and watching all the great builds done here.

Later
