D. how did they install all of the equipment for the night fighter version?
Hi Bob.
I found another couple of images of FE-610, which was surrendered to the RAF in May 1945 and flown to the UK then shipped to the USA for testing, with the red nose and tail tip and the FE (foreign evaluation) codes being added by allied forces following capture. There is also an image of the radar equipment with a scale for comparison. It is quite a small box and easy to set up in the twin-seat trainer variant that was converted to night fighter.
Cheers, D

D. thank you for the photos, and image. They give me something to control my imagination when envisioning this was all accomplished.

Hi Everyone,
Although I tentatively placed Damian's ribbon design as our award, it can still be updated or changed.
Both of our submissions have been by Damian.

I had a think about the small number and split it into 2 "20's" and increased the size.
Also, inspiration shot

Hi Damian,
I love the inspiration shot. It is fun to see 262 pics I haven't seen before - what a great diorama possibility!
As for the ribbon, I still prefer your design (#1) with the "2020" in the lower left - I agree it is small, but the 20 in one corner and another 20 in another corner is… well, a bit confusing.

Hi Tim. I quite often get drawn down the rabbit hole and spend waaaaaaay too much time reading and researching, but some of the things you find are true gems. For example, the prototype Me262 was a tail-dragger!

Agreed, I was a bit hesitant about splitting the 2020. How about this one, with a larger "2.0" instead of a 2020

Hi Daian,
That tail dragger 262 is sure unusual! The nose gear versions were certainly more attractive.
As for the ribbon, each of your proposals actually looks quite good. I'm just not a fan of the numbered campaigns; each should stand on its own, IMHO. Your latest proposal did suggest another alternative, though: instead of 2.0, how about "262"? It is still descriptive, but doesn't suggest that you missed out if there's no "1.0" among your awards...

This might turn into a dual-build for me, today I picked up a "white box" copy of the Hobby Boss A-2a/U2 complete with Eduard PE, at a very good price. The joys of trolling Facebook Buy/Swap/Sell pages!
It might be good to do a side-by-side build of this against the Dragon/Trimaster kit.
Cheers, D

Being an armor guy I'm not going to participate. So my opinion really shouldn't count but I'm for Damian's revised split 20 20 version and save the heads on profile for campaign III.
Good Luck and have fun ! I'm looking forward to seeing lots of Schwalbes !

I vote for #2, the head-on silhouette is the most menacing view of the 262

Well, it seems we have two votes for number two and one vote for number one or it's recently modified version. Anyone else wanna weigh in?

Aloha,
I am interested in this campaign but am a complete novice at these wingy things. This is to say I have not seriously completed one yet, although I am slowly working through Tamiya's new Me-109. With that said, I'm hoping for some advice from the 262 veterans among us as to what is a good kit. By "good" I mean the least hassle for assembly, best fit and the least putty, etc. I prefer 1/48th scale. I hope I'm not opening too big a can of worms here.
As for the ribbon, I vote #2
Thanks,
zon

Zon, the Revell/MONOGRAM kit is an easy build and not too bad on the billfold.
I vote on #2

Zon,
For best engineering, fit, etc., you can't go wrong with Tamiya. It has some detail short cuts (leading edge slats), but for falling together and good accuracy, you can't beat 'em.

Bob / Michael: I did not readily find the Revell/Monogram kit at my typical suppliers, so ordered the Tamiya. Thank you for the info.
I'm enlisted.

Well, somehow this might have landed in my stash today.
From doing some research it appears to be based on a paper version only, it never actually reached prototype production. Other Me262 Mistel variants on the books were Me262/Ar234 and Me262/Ju287 combinations.
Cheers, D

I'm actually thinking about doing a side-by-side build of the Hobby Boss and Dragon (Trimaster) A-2a/U2 kits, I think it would make a good comparison review.
I posted the Mistel here just for interest.
