Hey everyone,
Tomorrow is 1st March here. I'll be working, so I'm submitting my pre-build photos of my Revell kit today. It's a circa 2006 release and I just pulled off the cellophane today.
It's a pretty basic kit, and I'm happy with that. Unfortunately the decals are a little worse for wear. There is some yellowing and some brown splotches. I'll use what I can, and if necessary cut masks for the crosses.
I'll be looking forward to your pre-build photos!
Happy Modelling!

One more sleep for us Gaz!
My pre-build photos, along with a whole bunch of other stuff, is in THIS THREAD.
Since I'm doing a side-by-side dual build, I though I would open a dedicated build log thread, and post the relevant updates in the Campaign thread.
Cheers, D

Thanks for the welcome Gaz!
Here’s my kick off photo (I hope). There are a couple items (ultracast seat and yahu instrument panel) yet to arrive but should have them next week. Hopefully I won’t back off from the slats. I’ve had them for awhile and should really put them to use. Not sure about markings just yet but will most likely be for Major Nowotny.

Damian it looks to me that the canopies on the dragon kis open and close. is that correct? also i don't know why the hobby boss and tamiya kits waste plastic with radio details in the fuselage that can't be seen when at the very least a set of wing slats would be more useful. an engine would be too much to ask for too i guess. lol

Here's my entry:
Being a German packaging, the kit comes with incomplete decals, so I'm quite tempted to finish this in US markings.

Hi Joe. It certainly looks that way, but then the support prop might fix it in the open position. I will let you know when we get to that stage!

Yes, some engine detail on at least one wing would be great. The other Dragon kits, and their Cyber Hobby releases, all have at least one engine with internals.
I will start the parts clean-up on stage 1 of both kits in the next couple of days, really looking forward to getting stuck in!
Shell, Pasi it will be great to see your work on the 2 large-scale kits here as well.
Cheers, D

Hello fellow modelers,
very nice entries so far. Here is the start picture of my Schwalbe:
Revell Me 262 A-1a/U3 in 1/72 scale. It is the Recce version, so "say cheese"!
Have fun

Well folks, styrene has been cut, TET has been applied! The first 3 stages of Part 1 on the Hobby Boss kit are done, 15 parts involved here. Once they have cured I will apply some sprue goo to the joins to neaten things up a bit. The styrene on the HB kit responds well to TET and the fit and details are quite good.

Welcome to the campaign! The joy of styrene... after ten years, it's still ready to give you the pleasure of finishing it.

Another hour at the bench tonight, this time work on the Dragon cockpit.
And a couple of dry-fit side-by-side shots.
Cheers, D

David,
Welcome to the campaign. I've never known of Jo-Han models before so i had to look up your kit. It's definitely vintage... 1973. I was only 7 years old, then. I'm keen to see how it'll look.
Damian, there's certainly some detail disparity in the moldings between your two kits. Keep up the good work.

David, that is a real oldie of a swalbe kit. I wonder if I can find an old monogram or matchbox version in my stash. Then we can make a old timer kit parade
Looking forward to see how it builds up.

Here is my entry for this campaign, surprise surprise it’s Tamiya-San kit.
As you can see lots of AM goods to be added, but still undecided if I’m building a Sturmvogel or a Schwalbe. Since the kit is the Jabo Sturmvogel I still have a resin 4 gun fairing around for the fighter version.
Hope you don’t mind the fact that I will start the build at best in May, still some kits on the workbench to complete first.
Cheers
Pedro
