Looks a treat, Russell!
Anyone else nearing the finish line?

I'm calling Airfix's 1/72 Me262 done!
The box has been dismantled ready for archiving with the instructions
the obligatory underside shot
ok, the gallery seems to be back and running, so here we go
Thanks D, The Decals went down nice with a bit of MicroSol to help Even the Bavarian flag of blue and white with a little bit of coaxing from a soft brush.
Overall, I'm happy with the build (That's the 4th kit finish for me this year-and there's still time for a couple more).
The kit itself is nice in places, but in others it left me scratching my head, for example the fit of the wings.
Overall I give the kit a C+!
Lastly, Thanks to Gazza for a fun campaign!

That looks very nice Russ, neat job! How did the decals behave? They look like they laid down pretty smoothly.
Looking forward to the top shots now.

Thanks Gaz certainly an interesting campaign with lots of variants of the Schwalbe represented...
The Airfix kit built up quickly which I was surprised at, giving me the chance to finish it relatively quickly. Well, for me anyway

I don't think the email notifications for new posts are working properly anymore so not many people know you're asking...

Congratulations Russell,
the Schwalbe is very nice. I like it very much. I wonder about the good fitting of the decals. I had major problems with mine on the Airfix Dornier 17. Mabye they changed something.

Thank you Oliver
I'm sorry to hear of your difficulty with the Dornier decals...
In the case of the Me262 the decals went down very nicely... Although I am very careful to ensure I apply them to a gloss surface after soaking the decals in water, then dip them in a decal setting solution so that it goes under the decals without leaving too much on the surrounding model (I used Decalfix this time) and then apply a solvent over the top (in this case MicroSol) to ensure they snug down nicely.

My 262 entre
Just like Russel i decided to go for the same box and unit, not much pictures to be found on the Net for this specific aircraft unfortunately
I wanted to do a bit extra so after a bit of remodeling the flaps and slats where removed
And placed them back before painting
Painting was easy and decals where ok except for the white and blue squires that required a bit of extra attention with indeed Mirco set/sol.
and there you have it one Me-262 in take off mode
Tank you for a nice campaign Gaz!
