Hi Allen
Great job on the P-47! Those panzers have to look out now and close the hatches :-)

or are you angry at me because I pointed out, that you cannot tell a Bf 109G apart from a K? :-) :-) :-) :-)
cheers

Very angry. I will have to evaluate very carefully whether you should have a ribbon even though you subbit your FW with a bomb under it. :-) :-) :-)
On a serious note: I was actually asking because it looked like a G, but I have only seen this camouflage (special wing camouflage) on a K as far as I remember. However, I am away from my books right now, so cannot doublecheck.
The list is now updated with both Steffen and Ayhan.
What a great Stuka you have there, Ayhan! Let me say welcome onboard - and what a nice finished entry at the same time.

Ayhan,
Wonderful job! The Stuka is one of my favorites and you did it justice. Especially in 1/72.

Hi Jesper
You surely mean the the Bf 109 K "red Tulip" that is e.g. on the cover of the JaPo booklet about the Bf 109 K .
This is however Hermann Grafs Bf 109 G-6 when he led JGr 50 and formed his football team --- probably allowing Germany to win the 1954 World cup by drawing the boys from frontline service .. but I disgress --- see Graf & Grislawski by Christer Bergström for more details ...
soory for being
cheers

@ Derek--Great looking P-39--I think its the best looking finished build so far due in part to the nice base you have built. The plane looks good without the base also in case that sounded bad-lol.
@Allen--Good job on the P-47--Really looks great
@Ayhan--Love stukas so it could look like crap and I would like it--but you have done a great job. Its a shame to mess up a nice splinter camouflage though. I was wondering if that was a white wash over the white irregular camo lines(I forgot the pattern name-lol)?
I have been working slowly on my model--putting little P.E. parts in the cockpit area can be slow and maddening at the same time. I may be the last one done at the pace I am working at!!

Hi All
At last I've had a chance to get my "can opener" progressed a bit further.
I have the airframe together and the canopies masked ready for paint.
I have used Montex masks. You need to be really sure they are positioned coprrectly before you rub the edges down, otherwise they really stretch if you try to remove them.
I also used the Schatton brass barrels.
Cheers

I'm turning green with envy :-)
And the Thunderbolts, They're great too. Campaign seems to be going very well.

I think those Russian panzers are going to be hard pressed as we will soon have a mini luftwaffe of tank busting planes. Stukas and HS 129s will roam down low on the battlefield.
Looking forward to see your Stuka take to the skies, Peter

Hi guys:
Bad news I have today. In an accident I broke one of the fuselage sides of the Typhoon. The damage is so serious that i can´t fix it. I´m sorry to say it but as I don´t have another Typhoon in my stash, I have to quit this Campaign.
See what I can do or if I find something to start again.

That is very bad news I am sorry you had an accident. I were looking forward to see your Typhoon.
Feel free to join the campaign with anything else you have in your stash as long as it:
A) is used down low
B) has weapon(s) that can take out tanks. Fx. 30mm cannons, bombs, and/or missiles.
Hope you find something in your stash that would fit.

Hi Carlos
if it is just one fuselage side, maybe you can try to get a replacement part or sprue via HLJ (or Rainbow Ten, ... )? Shipping does not cost that much and a sprue is surely cheaper than a new kit ...
just a thought
best wishes
Steffen

Thanks Jesper and Steffen.
Right now I prefefr to try with another kit and leave the replacement part for a future. Thanks Steffen again for the info.
In my stash I found a Corsair F4U1 A, it´s a Tamiya. It comes with a bomb load in the undersides and was an AC of VMF 111 that in the Gilbert & Marshall islands made over 100 ground attack missions. Does this AC fit the rules ?

Hi guys:
Looking in my stash again I noticed that in 1/72 scale I have two P 47D Razorback (Academy) + one P 47D Bubletop (Academy) + two P 47M (Revell AG), and as there´s no doubt that the Thunderbolt P 47 was widely used as a ground attack aircraft in WW2, I dicided to enter again in this Campaign with a P 47D (Revell AG) of 509th FS / 405th FG.

Great!! Welcome back on board after being AWOL for a day
Just remember it should have some kind of bomb/rocket load to be able to take out tanks and qualify for the campaign. But I guess it has that?

Hi Jesper:
Researching the info about the P 47 I fall in love with this monster so I dicided that a second entry with a 1/48 Jug would be great. So here is my second entry, this time it´s an Academy P 47D bubletop (1/48). The kit looks very good, fine and crisp detail and lots of armament.
This is the kit, but yet I didn´t dicide what of the two schemes. Both are great.
