The Bulgarian aftermarket producer NH Detail have established a high reputation among armour modellers for their high quality 1:72 etched sets, so it's great to see them release their first WW2 aircraft sets.
Václav Lomitzki has sent us details of two new kits coming soon from Valom. Each in its own way, both kits are very definitely "What If"s!
Pavla from Pavla Models has sent me details of their next releases. This time the Italeri 1/48 Macchi MC.200 Saetta and the Airfix 1/72 Spitfire are the focus of attention. As with all Pavla's resin detail sets they look outstanding, judging by the photographs. Also included is a vac formed canopy that offers the chance to display the canopy open so that the work you do in there will be seen. Pavla are also including decals.
This new book is available from SAM Publications. The battle of Khalkhin Gol was the decisive engagement of the undeclared Russian-Japanese Border Wars, fought between the Soviet Union, Mongolia and the Empire of Japan in 1939. The conflict was named after the Khalkhin Gol River which passed through the battlefield and in Japan the battle was known as the ‘Nomonhan Incident’ and resulted in the total defeat of the Japanese Sixth Army.
1/72 Gladiators. (1:72)

Airfix have a very tempting offer at the moment to subscribe to the magazine next year. This became the first significant armed conflict of the Cold War.

Xtradecal have released this bumper sheet of decals for the Hawker Hunter T7. Some great schemes including two of my favourites: the Indian Air Force target tug and the Raspberry Ripple. I presume these decas are intended for the Matchbox or Revell kits. Markings include:
1/72 T-38C Talon PCP. (1:72)
Sword Models have released this classic aircraft design. The T-38C Talon PCP [Pacer Classic Program] is basically the name of the program to upgrade the airframe and instrumentation to improve the lifetime of this valuable lead-in supersonic fighter trainer.
Welsh Models next release will be the Boeing 737-200 in Ryanair's 'Jaguar' livery. With a wing span of 15.5 inches [39 cm] and a length of 16.5 inches [41.9 cm], this will be an impressive model. This being the 200 series it has the Pratt and Whitney JT8D engines, which were phased out because of the environmental concerns of this type of engine.
Just the two this month. The first are a couple of intake covers for the Mig-29A. Always a good way of lessening the work load, when you don't feel like blending in the air intake ducts. The second release are some fine exhausts, with hollow outlets. Saves drilling out the kits exhausts.
If you are not a fan of the Su-27, then read no further. Wolfpack Designs have released a comprehensive number of upgrade sets for this large fighter. All the releases are intended for the Academy 1/48 Su-27, except for the K-36D ejection seats, which can also be used Su-17/22/25 and the Mig 29.
Something for everyone that builds 1/48 aircraft. Highlight for me are the E-2C Hawkeye propellers with tool. The gun barrels for the MC.200 Saetti and F-5E tiger II also look very fine.
This months resin releases from Quickboost, focuses mostly on WWII types. But the Su-27 ejection seat looks very tasty.
Only one release this month from Aires in 1/72. As with many Aires releases, there is an extensive number of PE additions to go with the resin.

Canada is currently, the largest user of the F-18 outside the United States. The Canadian Forces official designation for the F-18 is CF-188A/B Hornet. Also announced is the release of decals for the Canadian Hercules. So it's not surprising that Canadian decal company Leading Edge should proudly announce the future release of the following sets.
The folk at Two Six Decals have been busy recently with no less than three new kits released and six sets of decals. The limited edition kits have been going quickly, so don't take too long ordering them.
1/48 Decals: Me Bf 110D. (1:48)
Latest release from Authentic Decals cover the Me 110D in 1/48. Unfortunately Authentic Decals are not specific about which schemes are covered, but they do offer some interesting markings. Stencils are included with the set.
1/72 Bücker Bü-181. (1:72)
AZ Models are to release a 1/72 plastic injected kit of the rather delightful Bücker Bü-181. There will be two boxing's, the first being a Panzerbücker, there are three different sets of markings in Luftwaffe service. The second offering is the one I am looking forward to, the Bestmann. There are five very different sets of markings, that I would find difficult to choose between as they all look fantastic. I would be tempted if I had the money to buy six kits and build Bücker Bü-181 in all of the markings supplied. Would look great on the shelf.
Latest releases from Freightdog Models are two sets of decals that cover post war RAF aircraft home and abroad. These sheets catch the very last days of piston aircraft in RAF front line service. Freightdog describe their latest products:
John McIllmurray of AIMS continues his focus on the JU 88 in Luftwaffe service. This time looking at the Junkers Ju 88-G. From it's role as a night fighter to Mistel. There are 17 different aircraft included on this sheet and a bonus set for a Focke Wulf FW 190 attached to a Mistel. Markings include the following aircraft:
Blackdogs latest resin release continues their Luftwaffe focus, this time producing very fine castings for Eduards 1/48 Fw-190 D-11/D-13. Resin parts were designed by Antfeist Milos.
Future release from Authentic Decals and their first in 1/32, is this very impressive set of decals for the Trumpeter 1/32 MiG-23M/MF Flogger B. The feature of this release has to be the 'Hell Fighter' sheet, which has to be one of the most spectacular paint jobs ever seen on a Mig of any sort.
Latest release from Aviaeology are these comprehensive decal sheets in 1/24, 1/48 and 1/72 for Hurricanes MkI. This is pretty complicated so I would sit down with a strong cup of coffee and pay attention. I will be asking questions later.
Squadron have anounced a new 90mm figure that's clearly inspired by the famous scene in the film Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb. Now... where did I put that 1:20 B-52 to go with it?!
1:144 AE-18G Growler (1:144)
Dragon have announced their latest 1:144 aircraft kit - a "1+1" boxing of the Boeing EA-18G Growler.
Kinetic Models have released a 1/48 Mirage 2000 two seater that can be built as either the B, D or N versions. Great to see this release as the aircraft frequently flies over my home.
Oh dear, I think I am becoming a fan of Luft 46 projects. There are some cracking future releases planned from Antares Models:
There a considerable amount of wheels in this resin set, 18 in all, for one of the trio of British V Bombers during the cold war period, the Victor. The set comprises of two nose wheels and 16 main wheels for the eight wheel bogeys. Also included are two resin retractable air intakes for the auxiliary power unit, which where situated on the upper fuselage, just forward of the fin. Judging by the images the casting looks superb as we have come to expect from Resin Art. Instructions are included with each release.
Latest release from Linden Hill Decals in their series of Post Soviet Air Forces, is one that covers aircraft used by the Air Force of Turkmenistan.
1/72 Me 109 X (1:72)
RS Models are to release a 1/72 plastic injection kit of the Bf109X, a development aircraft of the Me 109 using an alternative engine, the BMW 139 The power plant giving the aircraft a similar look to the FW 190. An interesting alternative for anyone wanting to add something different to their collection of Me 109's.
1/72 Junkers EF 132 (1:72)
For lovers of all thing Luft 46, here is a release from Antares Models that should please. They have released a resin kit of the Junkers EF 132 German long-distance jet bomber.
Future releases from Resin Art are two sets of wheels for the Hawker Hurricane MkII and the Short Sterling heavy bomber.
