@Dade, looking forward to see entry.
Gah, I was so close to having this thing done tonight, but I got worried about being too hasty, so it'll be ready the evening of February 1st. Considering all of the modifications I've made to the Betty, it's better to slow down a little than to ruin all of this work.
For what it's worth, my entry had been on hiatus because I was finishing this commission project which took over 250 hours to complete (it's not the can of soup)...
I just finished it Monday and have been working on the Betty ever since. I'll do a build article on the B-17. It was an incredibly annoying model and I want to warn everyone what to look out for.

WOW! What a great build, Dade! Without doubt one of the best entries into the campaign if not THE best.
Very cool - and great idea for the stand.
Thanks for participating

Thanks for the nice words, guys!
I wasn't sure how this project was going to work out, but it came out better than I expected. It's hard to tell from the pictures, but I tried some different finishing techniques on the Betty- some areas are more dull than others, the paint is more rough in certain spots, etc, to better depict the ravages of salt water air). The Ohka is fairly new so it's cleaner. The flame was really scary, but it came together. I only put four pictures in the gallery so I wouldn't flood the space, but here are some other shots linked from my web site...
This picture is about 4 or 5 times larger than the real thing. Note the cross hairs on the gun.
And some Photoshop silliness...
Thanks again, guys!

Hi Dade!
Fantastic and very dynamic model, congratulations!
Do you plan to enter it in the next MOM competition? Anyway, I hope you will submit some pictures and maybe a "how to" for a feature?

@ Jean-Luc: Thanks! Yes, I would be happy to enter it in the next MOM, but for some reason, the Photo section will only give me a blank screen no matter how I try to get in. Even when using the work around from my Profile page and reloading... When I can submit the photos I will enter it in the MOM. Unfortunately, I didn't take many pictures in the later stage of construction, so I might not be able to do a how-to with pictures (I was focused more on pictures of the B-17 for a build article). But I may try sometime.
Thanks again for the nice comments!

Try using my link in this tread and get in that way. Then choose another folder to upload pictures into. That is how I am uploading pictures for various campaigns at the moment until the system gets fixed.

Hi Jesper,
I've been trying that too, but all I get now are blank screens. I've tried reloading and nothing. I even tried all the work arounds on two different browsers and I still just get blank pages.
Ah well, I've got time till the end of February for MOM, so I guess as long as it's fixed by then.
Thanks for your help!

yeah, the photo/gallery server seems to be completely non-functional to me as well, no matter how it is approached.
I have some photos to update my progress to load, but I haven't been able to for like a day and a half now.
I guess they'll get the bugs associated with changing servers sorted soon enough though (assuming they are aware of them).

Ok, I can finally upload pictures to the new server!
This is what I have been up to:
Put the camo on. I was not at all happy about how green the Model Master ANA617 dark earth color came out:
I corrected by giving all the brown areas a heavy tinting wash of a reddish brown. The green areas also received a light wash of the same color to blend the two colors:
I then hit the model with a quick spray of very dilute "buff" color to simulate topside fading and glosscoated. I put the decals on last night. The aircraft specific markings came from a Sky Models sheet, the stenciling from the kit decals, and the national insignia from my decals spares folder (including a lighter blue "faded" one for the upper wing):
I'll either put a flat coat on tonight or just give it a rest for a day.

Managed to finish my Ki-44 on the weekend, and have finally gotten around to posting the images. The kit is the old Otaki 1/48 Shoki that I inherited from a buddy of mine. Not bad, but certainly not the Hasegawa kit in terms of fit. I used non-buffing metallizer for the undersides, Aeromaster IJN gray-green for the flaps, and Aeromaster dark and medium army greens for the uppersurfaces. Kept this one fairly clean (no chipping) because I wanted to show a fairly factory fresh a/c. Decals are Aeromaster re-release. Hope you like!

Nice Shoki, Grant. The Shoki is one of my long time favorites with those funky leading edges! And how nice to see a build of the good old Otaki kit. The classics may not be the most detailed, but they're always a lot of fun.

Great entry, Grant! Really good job on the paint work. It looks great with the colourful markings and the yellow drop tank in contrast to the base colour.
Thanks for participating

Looking good, Vance. This one is moving along rather well. One has to love those "angry" markings. I would not like to see this one come at me in the rearview mirror with flashing guns!
Looking forward to see more

Indeed, great Ki-44 Tojo grant. interesting looking plane - the two yellow-orange tanks are a nice touch.
I probably won't have more to present on my P-40 till the weekend (though I did get the flat coat on last night), but hopefully i can finish it up then. Just needs weathering and detail parts added.

Well, except for the fact that the spinner/prop assembly has gone AWOL, I am pretty much finished with the P-40K. I'll post some pics as soon as I find that pesky thing.

Found the bugger!
Ok, so I am finished! This is the first model I have completely finished in... uhm... almost 2 years!
Wow.
Thank you very much to Jesper for allowing some extra time to complete the campaign, as this motivated me to get on with finally accomplishing a final result in my new hobby room. It feels good.
Ok without any further ado, here is my Hasagawa P-40K, in the markings of the 26th fighter squadron (51st FG) flown by 1st Lt. C.J. White in China, Summer 1944:
Mostly out of the box, but not entirely. Changes include PE seatbelts, PE ring for ring and bead sight, brake lines from fine solder, replacement gun sight glass, aerial antenna rigging, and after market decals from Sky Models. Also thinned the gear doors and improved the wheels a bit.
