At least you're keeping the ball rolling...
(the recent "speculation about a certain new Hasegawa jet fighter kit" was in fact the inspiration for this question)

I intentionally chose a picture that did not show the national insignia because I thought that would make it too obvious.
So, for your next clue, here's an in-flight shot of the same aircraft showing the national insignia.

This aircraft was a scaled down "proof of concept" version of the subject of Hasegawa's future release (enough people have expressed an interest in the Hasagawa kit that surely someone must know the answer.

)
Officially this aircraft had the same name as its bigger brother... but, unofficially, it was known as a Lill... or little-...
(If no one gets it this time then perhaps Rowan will be kind enough to put me out of my misery

Hi again
Well, as a last hint before I give in and answer the question

- the Swedish company that built this makes cars too!
And, if there's no answer by morning I'll do the honours and put poor Kenneth out of his misery!
All the best

I'd answer it, but then I'd have to turn the question back over to Merlin or someone else, since my questions last about 3 nano seconds.
But a 1/4 scale Draken (did I spell that right?) just might convince me to to build a nice red one.
Don't say anything I sneaked over from the treadhead site.

Yes, Kelly, it is a SAAB,
and yes, Dave, you did spell Draken correctly,
now if only someone would take it one step further

It is totally Russian. I always thought it would have been a good Romulan bird of prey too.

Hello all,
It's the remains (missing outer wings and engines) of a Beriev 14M1P Ekranoplan

Sincerely,
Brian

Hello All,
Good one with the wing & ground effect machine. Russians sure seem to like things large!
What aircraft is this? It had three features new to USAAC Aircraft. First was retractable landing gear, second heated cockpit and third a turbo charger for the engine.

Hello everyone,
Did I stump you that badly? Here is a another clue. It's not an Attack/Bomber but rather a Pursuit Aircraft.

Hi Brian
I think it's the subject of one of my first reviews for Armorama - the Consolidated P-30 (PB-2A).
All the best

Hello Merlin,
Yes, it's a Consolidated P-30. The Army Air Corps only had 54 delivered starting in 1933. It had a speed of 255.5 MPH @15.000 ft. and 274.5 MPH at 25.000 ft. The aircraft was armed with three .30 caliber machine guns (one flexible in the rear). Funny thing about the Curtiss V-1570-61engine, with the G.E. F-3 Turbo Charger it developed a whopping 700 hp @ 15.000 ft. But this was 1933-34.
Did you by chance ever build the kit you reviewed? If so, I would like to see your work.
Over to you Merlin...........................

Hi Brian
Well, I did do some work on it - and then got distracted!

Surprise! Surprise! I should dig it out one of these days and finish it, because it's a nice kit and we don't see enough vacuforms anymore.
Getting back to the quiz, what's this aircraft?:

Hi there
Still no ideas? Try looking for a company better known for its gliders...

Have to admit you've got me stumped.
I was thinking maybe something from Miles but couldn't find anything that really fit.
Now that you mention gliders, however, I'll try looking in a different direction.

Possibly General Aircraft from Britian?
Maybe the Cygnet?
