Sorry - I'd forgotten all about this!
Try thinking of a Messerschmitt "Luft '46" aircraft. This mock-up was found by US troops in Oberammergau in April 1945.

It was the Me P 1112 V1:
The pics come from Monogram's excellent "Jet Planes of the Third Reich" - as does the next one! So! Nice and easy - but not letting you all entirely off the hook... what German prototype formed the basis of this US X-Plane?:
You get bonus brownie-points for naming both the US and German aircraft.
