Somehow, I figured you might be planning one. I've been looking at the USMC one - the R4Q-2. Which...if you say it out loud quickly, you'll see why the Jarheads got a kick out of this one.

But that will have to wait, my MC-130 project is entering the paint phase, so we'll see how this puppy comes out.

I'm working on three Aeroscale campaigns, plus some Douglas airliners, twin builds in each case.

front to back - C54s, DC-6s, P3C Orions, PBYs and 707s, in various states of completion.

Yesterdsay the PBYs jumped to the front of the line.

All three kits in 1/144th ? Outstanding ! A 1/144th T-6...just imagine how many color schemes and markings we can put that one in. The choices just boggle the mind.

Fellow "Smurf" Modelers,
Since I've been speaking about my current MC-130 several times, just thought I'd post a few pics to show the progress to date. I still have a long way to go, so we'll see how the final product comes out.

The first shot shows the engine intake modification accomplished because Minicraft molded it as square - that bothered me.

The next shows the main fuselage with the "Duckbill" nose mod getting ready for paint.

Bruce is that a Minicraft C-130 kit?
Is that snout an aftermarket part, or did you sculpt it from scratch?

Yes,that is the C-130H basic Minecraft kit, with quite a few mods present. You'll note on the motors,Minecraft molded the engine intake square. But the T-56 engines are definitely a crescent shape. As for the "Duckbill" radome, that was scratch built with plastic frame and stringers,filled with styrofoam, then covered in epoxy. The result was shaped and sanded to a multitude of photographs as best I could. You might also note the various sensors above the cockpit,on the side of the nose,and below the APU exhaust area. It is about ready for the primer coat.
As I stated, I still have a ton of things to do, besides building a bunch of various antennas and sensors. I don't build them as quickly as I used to, but enjoy it just as much.
I did take a bunch of photos during the build just to remind myself of where I started. Hopefully the finished product will represent a "Combat Talon II" example as I am aiming for.
Any and all comments are always welcomed, trust me, I know it isn't perfect.

Hi everyone! I've been trying to find Junkers Ju-87B Stuka - Airfix somewhere. I want to purchase it for my boyfriend. He adores scale modelling. Does anybody know some sites where it's possible to order?

I did notice also the various bulges and blisters
- and also the myriad devilishly small cockpit window masks thats always a spot that holds me up, and the C-130 has I believe, 24 windows to mask.

I wasn't aware that Airfix did a 1/144 Stuka. Eduard has an excellent little kit available.

Airfix has 1/72, 1/48 and 1/24 kits available. You can find them at any good hobby shop, or get the shop owner to order one in for you.

as Jessica says. There is also Zvezda Stuka kit in 1/144 for not much money.
You can search E-bay and find them quickly.

Fortunately, I did not count the windows as I masked. It just took forever...no matter how many there were.

The basic colors are now on. Attached is a quick pic to give you an idea of the present appearance.

Still a long way to go.

Do you know what scale he would like? I do not know that Airfix has a Stuka in 1/144 scale, which is VERY small. They do however have the Stuka in 1/72 scale, 1/48 scale, and even in 1/24 scale.

Right now Sprue Brothers has the 1/48 scale kit in stock right here.

I have sent you a PM about the Stuka.

The Airfix 1/24 Stuka has been around since the mid 1970s so don't expect it to be like modern-day kits. Still, it's filled with details and you can make a great model from it. Here's a look inside the box. Since it's in Arifix' current catalogue, you should be able to buy it at nearly any good hobby shop. If they don't have it in stock, they'll be able to order it for you.

Yes, that is a Stuka, and boy of boy, it is a BIG model. But if you are in Texas, you might want to consider a closer seller, as the one you linked to is in England, and the shipping to the U.S. will probably be quite high. If you have a close hobby shop then that, as Jessie suggested be the best bet for you. If not, again Sprue Brothers has that kit also in stock right now. And they are a very good and reliable and also quick to deliver. It's right here.

Buying from an actual hobby shop really is the best way to go for a couple reasons. First, you help someone that is trynig to earn a living and feed their family . And second, you don't have to pay any shipping fees that way . And third, there is no waiting for a week or more sometimes .

Previously I had shown the Minicraft C-130 project I was working on. This was modifying it to the MC-130H "Combat Talon II" version. That's fabulous Bruce.
All the scratch builts fittings and antennas as you described earlier, but the overall execution is amazing also. The props are especially eye catching. Looks like a model-of-the-month candidate to me.
