I do agree that the Hellcat turned out really good concidering it is a first build with something no better than half chewed bubble gum.

By the way did anybody realize Platz announced they are releasing an F-4J kit in 1/144. Knowing it probably will be an F-toys mold doesn't keep me from jumping up and down all day in my study....

Especially given that in this scale it only takes a paint job to convert it to an F-4C or F-4D

You need the chin pod for mosdt of the versions to conver them to Air Force models but...who cares hehehehe...

Just finished this.
It's a wooden (Huon Pine) carving that was going to be a master for resin copies, but I was never going to have the time to do this so I decided to make it into a model.
This is the air pirates aircraft 'Dabohaze' from Porco Rosso.

Hmmm, a bit slow here.
I am sure there are a few 1/144 builds out there that deserve to be seen by others!

Too get things started ere are some pictures of my conversion of a F-toys Tempest Mk.V to a Mk.VI.

I used the F-toys Sea Fury's wing and took a cast. Then cut them out with my trusty razor saw ready to do another cast as separate pieces.
They will need to be turned upside down and used on the opposite sides of the wing to which they were originally on the Sea Fury in order to be correct for the Tempest Mk.VI (or Mk.II).

Nice to drop by and see some new builds! Porco Rosso (like all Miyazaki films) is a huge family favourite, reminding me that Christmas time is film time around here !

Jonathan! Always good to see your airliners! I've yet to do that SAAB 340 of mine...

Peter! You're busy turning out planes! I have always liked the Tempest and I've got a 4+ Beaufighter on its way in the post, I'm really curious about what it's like and I'll probably do a review if no one else beats me to it!

Interesting build, Peter. I never saw Porco Rosso, but I recognized that it was an Hayao Miyazaki film. I have seen & enjoyed several of his films ( Spirited Away, Kiki's Delivery Service, & Castle in the Sky).

The Tempest came out nice.

Absolutely gorgeous !!! The Aphid work is unbelievable.
Since they are Eduard, I assume the fit is extremely good ? I have the kit in the stash. (Like quite a few of us !) Just haven't gotten into it yet.

Hope everyone has a great New Year with lots of time for modelling.
This is my (Petersplanes) resin kit with a specially prepared PE set done by Marek from ShelfOddity
( http://shelfoddity.com/ ).
I must thank him for the time and effort he has put into making this custom fret as well as the research he has done including adding pieces I hadn't even thought of! I can only say that he and his partners at ShelfOddity are very professional and their work is to a very high standard. I only hope that my model shows off (even if it doesn't match the standard) the PE set appropriately.

The finished plane represents one from 2./SAGr 125 based at Suda Bay, Crete in 1942.
It was painted in RLM72/73/65 and then weathered (panel line pin wash, panel centre highlighting, general ageing, paint fading and water stains on floats) with paints from the True-Earth (.com) line. I also used Tensocrom by Lifecolor for rust and fuel stains and Primacolor Silver pencil for chipping effects and MiG pigments for exhaust and gun stains.
Rigging between the struts was by single bristles from a house paint brush (nylon). The exhausts were scratch built.

The first one on my workbench was Aichi E13A1 Jake. I know there are still some kits available on the market but decided to scratch build my model. The result is as below:

I like your Arado too. I plan to scratch build one too (with detailed interior and separate control surfaces), but the queue is pretty long Now I'm working on Jake cutaway in 1/144, and drawing plans of Letov S328 for next scratch build project.
