Very nice work on those Messerschmitts, all of you.
Vance, have you already decided what markings to use on your G2?

... and the "I never bother reading instructions anyway!" brigade will wonder what the fuss is about.
Are you talking to me .. reading instructions ... phhht, what a waste of time ..
I just was not sure if you have read it and it would be sad to make mistakes others have already pointed out
cheers

A bit of a late arrival but I have finally started my entry for this campaign. It will be the Hasegawa 1/72 Dewoitine 520, hopefully finished in a few days!
Less than an hour of work! I have high hopes for a quick project this time...

Rowan, deadlines are for people who have a job. I don't, so I don't believe in them. So go ahead and do your usual, comprehensive build and let us know how the decals are.
What is the wing span going to be? I came close to getting this yesterday. But , just having finished a 32nd Phantom II, didn't think there would be enough room in the house.
Fore!

I think I've cleared the decks enough to allow me to spend today modelling , so I'm going to get stuck into the Bf 110. The wingspan is going to be about 19 inches - which is bigger than any shelf-space I've got in my flat! My sneaky plan is that the wings look like they'll be such a good fit, I might be able to leave them detachable... we'll see.
All the best

Hi again
Not a lot to show - more a question of proving (to myself as much as anyone else! ) that I have actually started!
As you can see, I've got a few sub-assemblies together and applied a base-coat of RLM 02 ready for detail painting and weathering. More to follow soon.
All the best

Hello everyone:
At this time it looks like I will not be able to finish the campaign. The VA has sent me back to school to reeducate me in order to find a job, all of my time is devoted to study and homework.

Thanks Carl, I am having trouble at the moment with the acct. 101, nothing is registering.
Time to get some tutoring.
Christer: those waist gunners look great, what scale are they?
Magnus: the 520 is looking really good, I need to get your technique on spraying.

Thanks Carl. This campaign is producing some very nice models.
I suceeded in getting the canopy on after lots of blue language . The kit fit is excellent overall, but the canopy problems are probably 1 part design and 3 parts my ham fisted building skills. The only putty required has been to fair in the glazing and to smooth out the fill job on the rear barbettes.
I tried Mal's idea of using fine steel wool to avoid removing surface detail during final sanding. Works like a charm Pre shading and painting next.

Taylor:
Your 410 is really taking shape, I am glad that the episode with the canopy did not bring out the beast. When it appears on any of my builds, some part gets broke.

Back to the workbench after work has kept me away for a couple of weeks. The Halifax has proved to be an awkward model and I am not satisfied with it. However I am not going back now and it will have to be finished as it is. The kit is not good but I have made too many mistakes to be really happy.
The earth colour is not as bad as the photo makes it but it is still not quite right. The black waves are too long and too low downbut I don't think I can easily change it now. Learn, move on.

Amazing builds in this campain so far.
I appologize for not being very active in the past little while, but I have made a start on my build for this campain.
I am building the Monogram Classics Hawker Typhoon in 1/48th
I have the interior just about done, added some PE belts to the seat, and closed it up.
My camera is on the fritz at the moment, but hopefully I can get some additional WIP shots.
I have the assembly of the wings to the fuselage completed.
I am hoping for a quick build so that I can finish it by the deadline.
Ted

Andrew, nice job on the Halifax. Which kit is this? Looks like you are a little tough on yourself - at least the camouflage job looks good to me.
Excellent diorama, Roy. Another small masterpiece from you.
Thanks for participating, guys

Hi Gang
Seems I need an extension ... and this time it is not my fault .. well not really.
I got a stroke on Wednesday which luckily was relavtively slight but still forces me to stay in hospital for a futher few days (week). I do not have I-net access there (have a few hours off today) and I cannot model.
So please give me a fortnight (or so) more to complete my model (Avia B.534) ..Hope I can improve my left hands abilities a bit more until then .. fine motor skils are still a bit random (it is pretty hard writing half way correct on a keyboard)
all the best
Steffen
