I am not going to ask for an oficial extension from the Campaign Gods. But everybody should go ahead and finish as they can. I will award ribons as photos are submitted. That way, everybody gets their ribbons without delay, and has plenty of time to finish.

And now you know the rest of the story.

Good, thanks. I was going to ask you for a one day extension! Decals, stripes, and the flashy red tail all getting done tonight!

Hi all!

First of all I want to wish you a speedy recovery, Steffen!

I was really shocked when I read about your illness, but I´m relieved to hear that you feel better already!
Take care of yourself, my friend!

Now to my build for this campaign, the Tamiya 1/48 P-51D Mustang.
Even tough I haven´t shown anything yet, there´s progress!

Interior is complete;

Fuselage is closed and married to the wings.

Well, this is one of Tamiya´s best, so it´s nearly perfect in the fit and a very fast and easy build.
Almost boring, but you will get to the painting really soon.

More pics to come!

Cheers!

Done!

To reiterate. This is Eduard's first 1/72 release of the La-7 many, many moons ago (non-profipack). I decided to use PropagTeam's Dolgushin decals because I wanted a single-color Lavochkin (although it required two sets because they're too translucent). Finished using Agama paints for the main colors (although the underside blue needed lots of help) and Aeromaster/Vallejo for the red and Polly Scale for the white. Alclad was used for the area just past the exhausts.

Watch for a full build article in the December Internet Modeler.

Hi Carl

I am slowly progressing, but I will still need a week or so (must finish it in this time frame as I will have to go into rehab on 11th) we'll see if I can manage this.

This is what it looks like now .. I have added a first oils dry brushing which needs to be egalized a bit more on the lower wings .. thogh the gloss and flat coats even out a lot of the effects.

cheers

Steffen

Excellent build, Matt. A very striking colour scheme.

Looks good so far, Steffen. Realistic weathering on the fuselage. Looking forward to see more as you progress.

Matt: Beautiful LA 7. I really like that scheme and the weathering looks spot on.

Steffen: The Avia weathering looks great. Hope rehab is going well

Al short hello from the hospital

Very nice late entries!! ... though I do not like the late war colours on the 410 too much

Sadly I did not manage to finish my Avia before I went into rehab ... this is how it looks so far:

Nothing spectacular, but I am glad the u/c went on pretty smooth.

hope I can finish it when I am out.

all the best

Lap Man. Your Chow Hound looks great. I will post your ribbon.

Steffen, just take care of yourself and don't sweat the small stuff. Good progress though.

Ayhan, that is one nice 109. I hope to get mine finished by next weekend, but I think I might wait, so it doesn't end up too close to yours

Your'e right Carl, but here we go anyway. This is finally the Fujimi Bf 109 K4 I bought second hand, lacking decals. I've painted the crosses and no-step borders, and taken a few things from the spare decal box, just to liven things up a bit.

I see now that I need to get a new bottle of flat varnish, but that will have to do for a while. No more hobby shop in town unfortunately.

I got the wavy line between upper and lower wings with way too large amplitude, an way to low frequency, but that's on the learning budget. I'm also a bit disappointed by the panel lines. I use artists oils normally, but the lines - especially in the split between engine cover and fuselage - are shallow, so it won't really build up in them.

Cockpit got rather good though, so I'll consider this one done, save the varnish, and move on. It's a busy year next year, so I'll try to get a fast 109 D with a simple paintjob as an appetizer for the Thunderbolt and Wurger campaigns.

Tanks for the comments, guys.

The reason for the build was the late war paint mixes. I should have got a bottom pic too, because the wings are supposed to come from "elsewere", just as the engine cowling and the rudder.
