Really nice B-25. I love that aircraft, which explains why I have three more in the closet. Photography is really important in our hobby. It is almost as important as the build. I sure wish I could do a better job myself.

JL)- That looks like an intense build. Better you than me. It will be a great addition, and you did promise something exotic.

whew, I'm glad this thing got extended. I just had a major setback. apparently my gluing skills aren't what I thought they were and my entire rudder and elevator assembly just broke off. I think I'm going to have to blame my poor packaging of the kit for the trip home from school though instead. either way, that's going to set me back another coat of paint, but maybe for the best. I kinda covered up my preshading, so it might be a good idea to do it over.

OH!

I HATE it when that happens!

I had a similar incident with the wings on an A-26 I was working on last year.

don't let it stop your progress though!

Carl,guys,
I'm afraid I'll have to beg off and bow out of this campaign. The Mossie is barely started with the conversion parts still lacking(NF). Two armor dios are ahead of it's progress and ahead of all THAT is some dio accessory mold-making and castings That have to be done while the weather is in my warmest favor.
I will get it done though. Those parts will pop up in the future sometime.
All the builds I've seen in this thread are killer! Not Sure how my black and dark sea blue winger would have stacked!
Cheers untill I get simple again!

Rick, Sorry to hear that, but I do understand how easy it is to end up with too much on your plate. Good luck on those dios.

All,

Finally, the Do 17 is done. It represents (hopefully!) an aircraft os Stab./3KG based Cambrai France, July 1940.

I will post better photos in the gallery when I can get outside for better light. Comments good and especially bad welcome, I need to know wher to improve..

Steve: Nice to see another do17 finished. Looks good, far neater than mine. That damns you with faint praise
Splinter looks great. I think I've got to have angular camo in everything I build now.

Same goes for you LapMan I like the splinter plus I've never seen one of those modelled before.

A couple more of the Dornier in better light. Is there a gallery to upload to for the campaign ribbon?

You think the masking was tedious, just wait until you get going on the decals. I know. I also did this one for the campaign. But the result is amazing. Looks like your camo came out great.

Once you start on those decals, you probably will want to start on something else. The high number of decals is the only thing I would find fault with on this kit. But I would be even more upset if they weren't provided. So, even though the numerous stencils will drive a person crazy, you don't have to use them all. (I used them all) Great kit.

Hi Carl

Well, you are right and you are not .... the Number of stencil data is pretty small (ever bult a Tamiya Jug ?...) I split the work over several days. First I checked if there are large decals over maint. markings (not in my case).

Day1: I started with the teeth only ... I knew I would screw up if I would do more than that on day one. Somehow this whole affair does not fit and is too small. I got a gap of about 5mm. I could cover some of that with the spare decals .. still I had to paint and alter the layout a bit .. but who knows

Day2: I then did all upper side Balkenkreuze and unit markings.

Day 3: Tail plus maintennance markings on the wings.

Day 4: Underside Balkenkreuze and Letters. I will not do the frame numbers. It's much worse to screw them up, than to leave them off. .. still some stencils to do.

My kit lacks the two compressed air decals for the nose MG .. they are just not there. Either the brilliant cutters who remowed the Swastikas cut them away or I did (but I don't think so) . So I pretend the teeth were painted above the filler markings. I used Daco red for all markings .. green or orange would have been enough though.

cheers

Steffen

Looks good, Steffen. The issues with the shark teeth do not show at all.

Are you building it with the rear cockpit closed or is it only for the painting process?

Looking forward to see it finished.

I was missing a few of the stencils also. No big deal for me. And I did the frame numbers. I only messed one up, but it was easily replaced. Did the whole thing in one sitting.

It looks great. I was thinking real hard about the smiling decals, but went with the stinger instead.

Now that you are done, I guess we should be real close to wrapping up this campaign. Only about two weeks to go.
