Hi Steffen
Having built a few Koster's vacuforms over the years, that's pretty much what I expected.

Hi again Steffen
Well, having got the kit home and had a chance to examine the Nell, I have to say my example doesn't seem to suffer from over-attenuation nearly as much as Mick's. It's still going to be a challenging build, but I was obviously already prepared for that. The biggest problem for me is that I want to get stuck in and start it, but I mustn't get distracted from all the other builds piling up!
All the best

Nice catch Andy, I expect to see them all finished as you drive up to Telford
I've just found an old second hand Egg F-14 which I picked up, so Jolly Rogers or Tomcatters? At this rate we could have a half dozen eggs in a basket

from ebay the old c1988 hasegawa AV8-A harrier in 1/72 1.04 plus 2 pound postage. bargain. Raised panel lines but lots and lots of stores. I may go a bit mad with this and start drilling out vents and the like since i'll only waste a few pounds with this if I balls it up. Vectored thrust group build anyone?

This arrived last week, I fly these and a successful build will probably bury me in requests for more from other squadron pilots.
Terri you got the Felixstowe, I'm jealous. I went to the model shop today where only about 2 weeks ago they had one. GONE!! I'm gutted. A plan..... I'll ask Santa for one

Hi again
yesterday came another addition to my library:
It is a very nice book .. nothing really in depth (no insult against the notable authors but the format does not allow more) but with a bit new info nonetheless. I prefer "cleaner/clearer" colours on profiles.
cheers
Steffen

This one arrived while I was on tour.
56th Fighter Group Unit History. Printed only once in 1948.
Its signed by Robert Johnson.
I have another one inbound, signed by Hub Zemke.
Scary to think that these books are 60 years old this year.

This is the result of the spending spree that i went on during my 2 months in Germany (been back 2 weeks already now). Luckily for me i bought all this BEFORE the Australian Dollar collapsed, otherwise it would have all cost almost twice as much...
I had to throw out a few clothes to fit it all in the luggage back home, but they are only clothes.
Had to get this one after actually flying on the real thing from Friedrichshafen over Bodensee and around the border of Austria and Switzerland.
And some decals, the F104 for the Speed Campaign and the P47 for the Thunderbolt Campaign.
And lots of German magazines that i looked through but had to throw out because they weighted to much for my luggage!
And this amazing model i bought at home just before leaving:
And these 2 since getting back home, the P47 is for the Thunderbolt Campaign of course.
Now i have to go back to work to pay for it all.

Hi all,
I received my He 112 and R-5 from Rest Models. I was a bit surprised that there was no box as such for both models (Neomega only sent one cardboard box) but the kits are excellent. I'm particularly impressed by the

Hi Jean-Luc
That is a little odd - Neomega have sent the kits to me in their original boxes in the past. Did they include the boxes flat-packed?
Is the He 112 the updated version that Ruslan has just released? I've made a start on it and it's a real stunner - the fit of the parts is even better than the original (and that was nigh on perfect!).
All the best

Hi Rowan,
No there was no box at all, even folded. Only the parts, instructions and decals. Maybe I should write them that I'm not happy?
More seriously, I want to build the models, so the boxes aren't important.
It's the old 112 though. As I already said to Steffen via PM, I should have waited a little more. But the kit is nevertheless very good but not as appealing as the R-5...

Hi Jean-Luc
The old version of the He 112 is still a beautiful kit - now I've got the new one too, I'm considering using the original for a conversion. The R-5 still surprises every time I browse through the stash - I can't get over that huge wingspan.
Great news for fans of Rest Models - Ruslan has sent me a photo showing that he's resumed work on the Fw 159. It looks like it'll be another cracker!
All the best

Got a package this. Nothing exciting, it wasn't the model I was expecting. It was the regulator and water trap for my new compressor.
At least I'll have a crack to see how long 2 gallons of 100psi air lasts before I need to turn the compressor on again as it is pretty noisy.
Maybe it'll come tomorrow. If not I'll have to wait till Monday.

I don't buy many aircraft kits lately. (funny thing is for about ten years aircraft were all I built) but the FedEx dude brought this today:
I may eventually get around to building it someday!
Does the FedEX dude count as some sort of postman?
