Second car kit ever. First one a pontiac trans am was 25 years ago
Looking forward to building this while the turkey digests
It looks like fun. You even build it like you would a real mini.
Maybe I'll get 1:1 to play with.

Hi All

today I got a parcel from my clubmate (and chairman) Volker .... I already feel like Christmas eve

of course this will again eat up most of my modelling time on the week end (taking pix, writing reviews, composing articles) .. but it is worth it. Did not expect to get the sprues ... now I need instructions for the Academy F-22

cheers

Steffen

P.S. as we go OT from time to time .. I also got this :

p.p.s. and I forgot these:

Hi Steffen,

It will be a busy week-end for you... I'm jealous!

I'm looking forward to see and read the review about the G.55. I suppose the Hauler PE are for vehicles...

Hello Jean-Luc

well, especially hard since I still have a lot other articles that need to be uploaded ..

The Hauler sets are for the Kurogane (Has) and the AB-41 (I have a 2nd ..Tamiya edition), the masks are for the LaGG-2 (ICM).

I cannot promise I can do the G.55 article soon .... but I'll try.

viele Grüße

Steffen

Not really stuff brought by the postman, just bought from a LHS.

The smaller one first:

This sheet I bought mainly for the low-vis markings for MiG-21bis, but I don't think the rest will be left unused. (Hmm, should I build a BAE Hawk in 1:72 before tackling the 1:48 scale version...?)

Being my own Santa again...

Now this is great! Quite an esoteric variant of the D.XXI, and particularly awesome as it's strictly a Finnish version. I hope they keep those Finnish subjects coming!

Judging from a quick glance inside the box, it looks like a nice kit. This time there's a PE instrument panel with acetate dials; I think Special hobby has been listening to customer feedback.
With the other aspects of the Wasp-engined Fokkers taken into account, I found it a bit strange that the kit lacks a reflector gunsight and includes only the regular control stick (there should be a spade grip in this variant; not hard to make from scratch or swipe from another kit, though).
And what gives about having to alway be so PC about swastikas on the decal sheet but not the box art?

But enough trivial nit-picking, it's finally released and this one's getting wrapped up and going under the Christmas tree.

Hi Eetu

nice haul ....

I passed on this Fokker (I already have the other (not even started) ... speaking of Finnish subjects IIRC AZ will issue two Myrsky variants .. beside all those small scale stuff

cheers

That's how the stash keeps growing. I got the Mercury-engined 3rd series Fokker still to be built as well... (and I got that Classic Airframes abomination I bought before Special hobby released theirs)

Yep, AZ is apparently going to release a 1:48 VL Myrsky II and a mk.I in 1:72. Both are labelled as future releases in their website.
Special hobby's 1:72 scale Myrsky looks very nice in the box. I guess it needs building them up to decide which one is better, that or Ardpol's resin kit.

Hi again

Well, this one's not courtesy of Postie (just as well, because I think he's still recovering from delivering a giant box of samples for our reviewers! LOL!), but I couldn't resist this one when I met up with Andy in Modelzone today:

Yep - Revell have got their BIG Ju88 out in time for Christmas. First impressions are pretty encouraging - and the real surprise is the price... under £30!

All the best

Hi Fred

I'm afraid I won't get a chance to review this one until sometime in the New Year, so hopefully one of our members will do the honours before then. I'll be going away for Christmas and the latest crop of samples have to take priority.

All the best

Hi all

it is a cold winter morning here. Luckily it is quite bright so I can take some photos. This is a mixture of some bought parts (see yesterdays post and some samples (models):

As not all can be clearly seen here is a list (all 1/48)

Eduard Fokker E.II/E.III
Special Hobby Il-10/Avia B-33
Thinner for Acrylics (I use the acryl cleaners from Aztek and Vallejo .. both work great for me using Gunze and Tamiya paint)

Draken: J35Ö cockpit, Nozzle (both Aires), Air scoops (QB)
Hellcat: F6F-3 Cockpit, Wheelbay(Aires), Engine (QB)
Harrier Gr.7 Cockpit (Aires)
Ki-45 Flaps and slats (CMK)
Mosquito wheels (I have read the Revell have some issues and I bought 2 Aires sets as I did not know which I would need)
Fw 190 A-8 Wheels ... I need to finish that Eduard kit
Ta154 Wheels (Aires)
F-15E Cockpit (for Revell)
Hunter FGA 9 set .. I wanted the all inclusive package for my model .. still need some nice decals .. (there was a Pakistani Pilot scoring 4 kills in an Iraqui machine)
Spit VC color Zoom (the kit includes Extratech Etched parts though it seems to be an Eduard mould tool
and finally a replacement nose for the Trumpeter Su-15TM .... some work and a lot of future fun ... maybe
Bf 110 C/D Slats (2 for the RC kits)

all the best
