Hi all
The postman had been very busy in my absence from Castle Aeroscale! Unfortunately, the muddle over my going freelance and moving away from London meant our erstwhile minions there had neglected to tell me that the following had arrived...
A phenomenal bundle of samples from Pavla Models! There's 1:48 resin sets for the Canberra, and a PRU Spitfire, while in 1:72 there are upgrades for the Westland Lynx and AH-1... I'm just beginning to sift through the goodies!
2 x new tool sets from Radu Brinzan, including a really exciting new scriber.
A Karaya resin ASh0-82 FN radial engine for my La-5FN magazine build - this set was out of stock at Hannants when I ordered it, but the build's so delayed, I'll be able to use it after all!
Ohh - and while going to London, I couldn't resist a trip to Hannants' Colindale shop, where I picked up Special Hobby's 1:48 Heinkel He 178 V-2 and a few fresh Xtracolours for a certain largescale Spitfire IX that is rumoured to be heading this way...
Methinks a fresh rash of Reviews is on the horizon...
All the best
Rowan

This are my latest trophies
"Tolo - musketeer of the 303Sq, memoirs about Wilotd Łokuciewski"
...for the future project, maybe some polish P-47 for the "Aces High II" campaign. Price was good so I couldn't resist.

Rowan , are you sure you have enough now ? Seffen just might start doing his shopping at your place
Micheal , nice engine set to go along with a P-47 kit . Are you using the Tamiya kit or the hasegawa kit ?

Here is what the postman just delivered ... luckily no thread to my wallet
the Roland kit looks very nice, as does the FA 330 .. Jean-Luc already reviewed the Nachjäger kit and our latest IPMS D mag turned out pretty good ...

Hi Terri:
and for the parts picture a link as it is a bit larger: Image 3
(Despite my German review here some short notes....) The parts look very good and crisp. The fuselage is maybe a bit too smooth, but I will check that against the Datafile, when it arrives. The plastic is neither too soft nor too hard but I do not like the colour. Very few flash ... I think Stephen did a short review here (?) .. aah and the resin engine is a nice touch. Sadly much rigging and no ace markings I know of (o.k. there is Kissenberts D.VIb that is partly seen on a pic in one of the Osprey AoA booklets .. )

Thanks steffen and for the link . Only pic's that I have seen are really small . Not sure if Stephen did a tiny review . I have the Bluemax kit B version along with the windsock . Another source of info which covers more Aces would be nice . However the cow markings in US national markings looks interesting !

That is a great bargain.
Scottish tap water thins dark sea grey xtracrylic just fine. If you are in a hard water area you prob
should use distilled water.
I guess iso will work too. But my tap water is fine for both brushing and airbrushing
xtracrylic. Other colour I assume are the same.

I've found the best medium to thin Xtracrylics is there own brand thinners. I've had mixed results using water and Iso.

Thanks John-Paul and Allen!!
So I will make a small try first before I ruin a bottle (I need a huge amount for that Raptor) .. I would like to add some Iso or Tamiya X20 to give it some bite .. normally I use Aztek Acrylic Airbrush Cleaner (Vallejo Cleaner is similar) ... Brett Green used it in one of the early videos on his site and It works great with Gunze and Tamiya (most of the times) .. it did not work with the Xrtacrylic flat I already have, thats why I asked ...

Once you hear the theme song ,youll NEVER get it out of your head!
Im definitely a fan!
I think this kit needs a review on the site, but not sure whether it belongs here,or in modelgeeks....

Very interesting subject Jim ! I was born in the 70's. So his I have never heard of before . Do they have any more in the series ?
My last venture into the shop was for Over The Front Vol 24 Num 3 Autumn 2009 . Sadly though my order for Gavia's Albatros W-4 is still on back order
I did place an Order for Eduards new re-release of the Albbie D.V .

Hi Jim
I think sci-fi / anime stuff is fine for Aeroscale (I still intend to build Porco Rosso's sea-plane one day). If you review it here, we can always syndicate it onto ModelGeek (or vice versa).
