I did place an Order for Eduards new re-release of the Albbie D.V .

Hi all

@ Terri: just ordered the Dual combo with Schleich and Thom. the new box has no PM holder included so I rather hesitate. Of course Monningtons c&m are interesting and there are other aces included, but building just a few WW1 birds I would rather stick with the PM pilots. Eduard page

As for the Stablazer . .well my childhood animation series is "Captain Future" which was totally changed or the German TV but got a very cool soundtrack by Cristian Bruhn .. I think most people (of a certain age) here in Germany know the title theme and "Feind greifen an" .... I think these models would fit here and modelgeek .. someone built a hoovercraft once here on aeroscale so I think you can build a tank with "speed stripes" and it still would be accepted BTW I have that Crimson pig plane too .. maybe for "Sea Planes" ...

all the best

Steffen , Still the same moulds . The other kits in the stash have the same sink mark in the pilot . If I was able to just get the skull decal I wouldn't get the kit . Still have about 6 in the stash . Would be nice to see Eduard do different subjects instead of releasing the same ones over and over again though .

Hi Terri

I do not mind they do the re-issue stuff. it is probably when they run out of the kit (at factory level) they just think about doing a new edition .. glad they even think about doing new decals ... somehow they must raise the money for the new releases ...

BTW there is a Fokker E.I/II dual combo listed for November. not sure if it is the special edition (like the Richthofen/SPAD 13 boxings) or a "normal" dual combo (without resin figures and stuff) .. hope they put in some PM guys this time ... would like Immelmann best.

BTW

a friend of mine painted the Dragon bust of MvR fo me and he did an outstanding job (IMO)

Too bad there are only two of these guys - I have Ernst Udet too - o.k 3 but Goerth did not have the Blue Max ...

cheers

oh ya man......They really were ahead of their time ..It might be a chicken or the egg thing ,but Its interesting to me the storyline similarities between this and Star Wars.. and that Themesong!..
@Terri ..born in the 70s?...now I feel old..I remember seeing the helicopters in Vietnam on the news when I was buy wee. Alot of the ships were done by Bandai...sourcing out the resin garage kits in this genre is like reading chickenguts ...BTW Terri Im rolling again on Mavis ..pics coming..
the Bandai stuff is pretty dated....and the plastic colours are outright psychadelic!...but Ive seen some REALLY cool things done with them using a good paintjob. I plan on adapting a Star Trek "aztec" paintjob over to a Gorland Missle ship.. I watch the series now on youtube to get charged up to do the kits..
Ex models was/is a branch of Bandai doing nuts and bolts kits of the fighters used in the series..and they have the best detail in my estimation..even the tires are weighted ...

Wow. I keep buying and collecting these things. The actual building end of it seems to have taken the trolley to no-where.

Hi Steffen

I've never got round to getting a copy of Arawasi Magazine - and it's something I've often meant to do. It does look great! I think I'm going to have to finally get organised and start filling the gap in my library...

Hi Rowan

Well I started my abonnement some time ago, so I have all issues. But looking in the mags back issues page no.6 and 8 are already sold out .. I bet this mag will be a good seller too ... so get it while you can

I must add, that I pay for my issues and gain nothing from this little ad, I just like to promote the smaller endeavours ...

cheers

This arrived today from the States

I've been after these since someone posted about them in the Blog I'm doing for my clients build. but unfortunately Relish Models in the UK will no longer be stocking the make and the manufacturer has been unable to secure a EU distributor so far. So I was lucky to find a set in the US, I was even luckier to not get charged customs fees

Hi Allen

Could you do a review of them for us? It might give them an extra boost and help DMold find a new importer.

This batch of goodies arrived from HLJ arrived yesterday. Couldn't resist their 'free shipping with paypal' campaign.

That's Kamide Koro's 1:144 scale Brewster F2A-1 in case you're wondering. That's quite some time since I've dabbled with that scale. I don't know if that Narcissus escape shuttle counts, as it wasn't that tiny a kit... If it doesn't, then the last time I've built anything in that scale was my first ever kit, a Revell F-16 that came with two tins of enamel, that horrid tube glue, and quite a crude plastic brush.

Nice haul Eetu.

i did not find proper things when they had the paypal promo .. but meanwhile there is the Hasegawa sale hope to receive my next two Würger soon ....

today I got some more reading stuff : U-Boot im Focus No.5 will not interest many people here, but this means that their schedule is completed and they have room for another LiF or LiF Spezial. Also while browsing through it I found the Fa330 "Bachstelze" mentioned .. which I had recently posted to my site and which gets suprisingly many hits .... so there is a slight link to "aircraft" too

cheers

No Problem Rowan, I'm at Newark model show this weekend and hope to start fitting them the weekend after so I'll do a review at the same time.

Nice one Allen!

@ Steffen - so, you spotted the HLJ Hasegawa sale too! I know I shouldn't be buying more kits that I don't really need, but those prices were just too good to pass on, weren't they!

Speaking of HLJ ... I just placed another order as they have Hasegawas 1/48 Fw 190A-6 for about 9 and the Fw 190F-8 for about 10,50 Euro on sale ... the Panther is also still there ....

cheers

Steffen

Hi there

A nice very prompt delivery from Hannants!

I know, I shouldn't be buying more kits! But Hasegawa's Shiden is so nice, I couldn't resist it when I spotted that Hannants have it on special offer. The Spitfire Special canopies and pot of Xtracolor PRU Blue might give a clue to a little background project I have underway...

Hi Rowan

nice haul .. but do not forget: don't say anything until you are done! .. so nobody will notice your failure, if (or should I write when? English can be quite difficult at times) you do not succeed
