Hi Steffen

Is Revell's S-55 the old 1950s kit? I don't remember ever seeing the Sabena boxing you've got in the UK.

Hi Rowan

Well, I also had never seen this before when I found it at modellbau-unikate24.de (sorry for the small ad ) originally I thought I would find some German markings for it, but it seems it was not used here ....

Jean-Luc found the imprinted date among all those rivets: 1956.. this box must be from around 1993 (as printed on the un-useable decals)

Pretty basic kit from a time when Revell did not design sprue frames but just arranged evrything around the injector. Bu somehow I like these choppers with the elevated pit (same with H-34 and Mi-4)

cheers

Hi again

A real old friend. I remember building it as a kid in the early '70s with floats and US Air Sea Rescue decals.

All the best

Thanks Steffen. So, if I PM you my postal address then 3 sets of P-61 glass will magically appear in a few weeks ? Is that how it works?

I'm not sure if the Vector gear is available locally, I will have to do some digging.

Many thanks again, D

Hi Damian

I do not think this is the way it works ...

If you do not find a suppplier in OZ I guess you will have to try NeOmega(UK) or Linden HIll or Sprue Bros from the USA .. honestly I am not familiar who in the world all carries Vector products. Also be aware that if you want to buy 3 sets you will hurt your credit card badly

all the best

Hi again

We've got a very nice set of new items today from Platz:

The Skyhawks (2 in the box) look real little gems. I'll get reviews underway asap.

All the best

Hi Rowan

These do not include the F-2 decals, do they? ... still do not like the Hasegawa "bum teeth yellow" representation of white but the Platz decals were OOP for quite a while ... (project on ice since i knew)

cheers

Actually, there's a preview of an upcoming sheet for an F-2B "JASDF 50th Anniversary"...

Thanks Rowan

actually I meant the F-2A stencil set. I checked their website and found it (http://www.platz-hobby.com/products/699.html), but it is not on the HLJ site ... I just tried via the Platz shop (Hobby collective) .. we'll see if that works --- instructions are pretty strange, but I am happy they use paypal ...

cheers

Very nice Justin!

if I again may be so blunt to post a link to my site. Jorge Roberto Wolf sent me some in progress shots of his mind blowing Cat (I am unworthy) ..but see for yourself: Catalina

(3 parts so far. haven't heard from him in a while .. hope Jorge is o.k . ... I also posted this in a thread here on Aeroscale, but it is probably buried down deep in the database somewhere)

all the best

Indeed it is scary but you should not give up that easy. There is always someone better than you, so what?

...did i write that he is a rocket scientist (really!)

Michal .. have a look here for things never to be seen again when the model is done ...

cheers

Took the advice of the forum members and ordered online. And this is what turned up :

Basically all are tools - cutting, scribing etc.

Danke Steffen [hope i got that right ]

Yes, i do have a few kits in my stash. I usually build then in my free time, and as a result, try and improve my skills. And once finished, i usually give the models to my friends making it a win-win situation. I get the practice and they get the models

Cheers

From the LHS:

...Like I didn't already have enough aftermarket parts for that Junkers.
Well, at least now about the only thing to resist getting is Eduard's exterior PE set, and because it doesn't seem to offer that big improvements, I think I can manage without.

Then the bigger item, Eduards Profipack Taifun. Christmas shopping is an activity better started early than late.

I bought this second hand from fellow modeller, for 15 euros. It's originally DML kit but reboxed by Italeri.

Kameraden

Hier you see my latest Einkauf from da Hobby Link of Japan

Got these really "dirt" cheap in their sale (as stated further above in this thread) due to the cheapness I also had no visit at customs so final price was 2600 yen ... BTW I already have both in the stash

cheers

Yes.....

As Homer said in one of yesterdays Simpsons episodes here in Germany (when visiting their local Oktoberfest): "Den Deutschen kann man einfach nicht böse sein."

cheers
