I evacuated Dragons old Fw 190D-9 (#5503) for 15 € from fellow modeller. I may pop this for checkerboard campaign.

Got these 2 today:
I like the printed Vargas Ruthie better than on photo of the real aircraft .. these decals are truly showing Cartograf's knowledge: superb colours, not misprinted, minimal carrier film .. and I bet they are very opaque too
all the best

Hi Steffen
Very nice! And, if it's the same in Germany as the UK, Revell have been knocking out their B-25 at a very nice price lately. Which reminds me - I have one partly re-scribed... But NO! My will is strong! I won't get distracted into starting a different build!
All the best

A couple of new additions, the paint for my 1/32 Special Hobby RAAF P-39 and the razor saws for, well, chopping things up.

Nice one Damian
I'll look forward to seeing the Aussie P-39. Be careful of the Interior Green in that set - if it's like my pot, it's very vivid (nothing like the colour printed on the box) and not suitable for an Airacobra - Review HERE.

Thanks for the link Rowan, and I see what you mean. That Interior Green looks like it might glow in the dark. I will try to tone it down with some of the dark green before I hit the kit.

Hi again Damian
I've just down a very quick test with the Interior Green, and if you mix it about 2:1 with the Neutral Gray in the set, the result actually isn't far off the Bell Green in the pics in the Detail & Scale P-39 book.
All the best

Hi Gang
despite my expections that this would be another bad day in my personal hell ... well, the postman brought some great stuff:
1. After a pretty long delivery he finally dropped the Pheon Models JG II Dr.1 decal set in my mailbox. And this is a huge set. 30 profiles printed on 5 A4 glossy heavy paper plus several postcards with corrections and additions. You get a booklet with rmarks for each machine and a sheet with instructions for a jig to correct Eduards U/C .... and of course you get that A4 sheet of decals printed by Fantasy Printshop (who play in the same league like Cartograf .. at least in quality) .. of course I will never build those 30+ Fokker Dr.I but it is nice to have a choice All in all a very good package and well worth the price (even more considering the weak GBP)
2. Another package from Great Britain .. yeah, you guessed it I finally (FINALLY) got my replacement dash board for the Super Etendard from NeOmega .. .wahooooo . Considering the slow delivery of the above set I think it has much to do with the postal system, that it took so long. Maybe some poor soul had to row it over the channel and he/she only works wednesdays when there is no full moon .....
all the best

Hi Steffen
Great to hear your NeOmega replacement has finally arrived - I know you've been waiting a long time.
My day just got off to a good start too, courtesy of Casemate and Grub Street:
Over 300 pages and packed with photos and line-drawings - I think reviewing it is going to be a real treat!

Hi Steffen
Yes, it's a classic book (this edition is 2007) - and, no, I haven't got the IJN one - another Review gap to fill in (there are so many and life's so short... )

Hi again
It's turning out to be a very good day for books! My brother's just brought home an as-new copy of Putnam's "Soviet Aircraft and Aviation 1917-1941" which he found for £1 as surplus stock.
All the best

Didn't bother with photos but today the good postie brought me an airbrush holder and "The Bug" from the Small Shop. I now have 4 kits in the stash with PE bits, which I have never tried !! One day soon I will get up the fortitude to get into them now that I have the tools at hand.

A big envelope arrived at work, with this inside:
This is better than any kit arriving! All will be revealed when I near completion of these Tiffies.

Nice selection Luciano!
While waiting for some Lucky Model stuff, today I got this:
originally I also ordered the Dr.I Dual kit .. but it is not available (at the moment?) .. it was an orange box kit and no Ltd. Edition ... we'll see if I will get one of these. As I already have v.Tutscheks markings in the Pheon set, I do not necessarily need the dual combo.
all the best
Steffen
P.S. I will not start this soon, I just got it for Thom's markings and because it is a Limited Edition.

Hi Steffen
Nice kit! Is it my imagination, or are you getting more and more into WW1 lately? I'm looking forward to seeing whichever of the massive selection of Dr.1s on the Pheon sheet that you plump for...

Hi Rowan
Well, my plans are to finish the Super Ente before the marseillaise dead line. And I though about doing a Tamiya P-47D with PynUp decals OOB just to regain some motivation for the other kits started (and nooo it has nottin to do with dat nekkid ladies ) .. but we will see.
I fondled the idea to make an entry in the Dreidecker vs. SPAD campaign and if I will do such thing markings will come from the Richthofen box and either be LvR or Wolff's F.I.
It is true that I get a bit of Wk1 lately but not much more than before. the diffence is, that I actually try to build one or another of these and do talk a bit more about it ... but you know, talk is cheap
cheers
Steffen

From a fellow clubmember at a VERY modest price, a nice old kit with some handy reference material. I have no idea how old the aircraft illustrated extra is. At a price of 17 1/2p, maybe some of our UK compatriots can assist ??

Hi Damian
That's a great haul! I love the old Monogram Black Widow - a truly classic kit. I thought I recognised the format of the Alircraft Illustrated cover from some 1970s copies I have, and a quick check on the internet says that 'Extra #9 dates back to August 1971.
All the best

Hi Damian
You may wait to start the model .... i have a review of the very nice canopy set from Vector comming soon and (AND) Sergey is working on some more. While the kit is quite nice(and the only one) the details are a bit washed out .. I will try to rework and post the pix tomorrow so you can think about if it is worth the extra money .... (IMO these clear parts are worth it)
cheers
Steffen
P.S. i take a pic of my weekend buys tomorrow ....

Thanks Rowan and Steffen, I knew I could rely on you guys to come up with answers and advice. I have 2 of the later Revell boxings in the stash also, just couldn't pass this one up for the price and the extras. I will certainly check out the Vector canopies Steffen, and will also try and get hold of some noseweights (I believe Terry Dean does a good one) as this is a notorious tailsitter !!
Cheers guys, Damian
