I'm in all signed up, plently to choose from in the stash. May be either a P-61 or an Ar-240 but then again
I'll have to take a closer look nearer the start time as I have loads of different nightfigthers in the stash.

Ciao

Welcome Luciano:

That is the 2nd. P-61, the other by Taylor is in od camo, but I could not make out the artwork. His profile looks good. Luciano what scheme would your Ar 240 be in, and WOW all of those little anttanae. I think I will stick with the early war Spitfire in gloss black, or will all of my seams show up?

Signed up, number 13 hope that doesn't mean anything. Looking at either a Comic Camel, a BP Defiant, or a Blenheim. I love the Kawasaki Ki-45 (Nick) but Hasegawa want too much for the kit. I believe the Fiat C.R.32 was used for "night tactical operations". Anybody got any idea what these were cos Italieri do a nice looking C.R.32 and I haven't built an Italian aircraft in ages.

Andrew:
Welcome aboard, and watch out for Jesper he hides in the dark. You have a few kits to choose from, and I think any of them would be a nice choice. My pick is the Blenheim, I do not know what scheme they flew in at night, but it must have been a sight.

I don't know about the 32, but 42 was used as nightfighter by Luftwaffe.

Hello Tuomas:
Sorry about misspelling your name, I have no feeling in my left pinkie finger. It is hard to type at times, I will make sure that I type your name correctly by taking more time to proofread before I send my replys. I know what it is like, people misspell my last name also.

I am addicted to campaigns Seriously, I think campaigns is a great way to mix research and modelling and at the same time share it with others building in the same "framework". Now I might have to cut down on the campaigns as I have a new job involving some travelling.

Here you can see more on the Blenheim schemes: Wings Palette

Go with the blue one, classy. the data I already have on the Blenheim indicates all black schemes, but while reading in bed last night I found another one, the RAF used the Douglas DB-7 Havoc with a ventral gunpack with 4 20mm cannon as a night intruder, that would be nice, scheme I have for it is all black. Thanks for the pointer about the CR42, I found that as wellbut for 300 squadrigli Regia Aeronautica, might just get that kit (I like bipes)

Thanks for the comments. Glad you like them - it was difficult to find good pictures of nightfighters.

Ribbon... hmmmm... what about a dark blue square with moon and stars on it?

Hi all!

I hadn´t checked in on this tread for some time, and i´m surprised to find how it had run while i´ve been away!

Well, due to my "fumblings" in the dark, i missed when we went "official" too!
Corrected that one now, as I have signed on!

What to build, that´s the question!

There´s so much interesting aircrafts to choose from!

Does it have to be an armed "fighter"?
Or would a Night-ops Lysander qualify?

Oh, go for that blue banner, It´s an instant classic!
An animated ribbon would be cool, great idea Steffen!

Cheers!

Well been through the stash and changed my mind as to what I'll be building (although it may change again) Caproni Vizzola F4 of 303Sq, something different.
Kit by LF models

May also go for an Eduard 1/144 Me-262B

Hello Jesper:
Nice banners, they all are good and the Bf 109 on the blue banner gives an erie feeling of night flight. Great job. I see that there are 15 entrants as of 10/1/08.

I wish I was that good to do it by hand. I will use a decal from an Aeromaster sheet.

@Tuomas: I am no help in that department. Maybe Jesper or Vance or Magnus could come up with some information.

@Vance: The Uhu is a good project, I was really taken with it when Revell came out with the kit back in 1969 if I remember correctly.
