I was wandering if a night fighter campaign has been done before, and if not would anyone be interested?

Well Robert, I think it is a great idea. I have been looking at Gekko's at Hobby Lobby for over a year. I need an excuse to get one. Count me in.

Hello Robert,
There was an unofficial group build some time ago for "Nightfighters" I think there was even space in the photo gallery given to it as well. I myself would be up for an official rumble in the night sky!
Sincerely,
Brian

That is 5 so far, the timing would be up to when we are able to accomplish a campaign. I know that every one is busy at the moment especially Jesper. So Jesper what do you think, 2009 and I have been thinking over some guidelines.
1. Has to have been used at night for the purpose of intercepting another aircraft. (does not have to have been built for that purpose just used)
2. At least some documentation of a particular a/c accomplishing a certain mission.
3. Any nation from WWI to the Korean War.
What do ya think?

Hi!
Sounds like it will be a fun Campaign!
Considering the proposed length will be about 4-6 months, count me in!
Even though I´m knee-deep in Campaigns right now, I can´t resist this!
Cheers!

I think your guidelines sound good, Robert. Timingwise I would go for 1st March til 1st September 2009. That would give 6 months and allow others to start/finish upcoming FW 190 and Thunderbolt campaigns.
Now we are 6 participants:
Bigrip74
SGTJKJ
CaptainA
bf443
amegan
PhantomII
4 more and this one can be formally submitted.

Defiant, ooh a strutter would be nice too, having just built flashback's 1 1/2 strutter a comic conversion would be nice.
We'll need something stop all those Eduard 110s which will no doubt be swarming all over us.

Ahhhh!! I love nightfighters and I have a fair few in my stash but I'm worried I might over commit myself on campaigns next year as I'm a slow builder
Can I see how it goes and get back to you

I will have to consider this seriously.
As you might have seen I have two major paths. Swedish single-prop fighters and Bf 109's. But then again, a threecrowned J30 Mosquito in 1:72 might be nice. On the third hand however, it might break a third path of Swedish twin-prop fighters and bombers with a B16 Caproni, B3 Junkers 86, S5 Heinkel 115 and not to mention the prototype Hampden or the SAAB B18. I'd like to be in, but can't say for sure yet.

Wait wait!!! I was waiting for a Night Fighter campaigne for years!!!! You can't just put the idea on and not count me in!!!!! Just add me in!!!

I like the idea. but I do not like the name.
What about Night Stalkers, Moonlight Hunters or Shadow Chasers or maybe Dark (K)Nights
Yeah i know .. my English is pretty bad, other ideas welcome, I just do not like the "rumblings " theme because we had that for the Asia campaign and I failed miserably.
Robert: Why did you make this a blog? ... just curious
cheers
Steffen

hello Robert
Ahh, I see. Actually I am also not so sure about it. I always thought it was to mark the thread as building thread or wip.
Maybe a staff member can add a comment and remove the flag in case it is wrong.
Thanks!
all the best
Steffen

Hi All,
Count me in too... I quite fancy a Defiant or a Beaufighter. Or, maybe a Ju88 or Me110...

Ahh you can count me in for this and this will not be my usual scale (1/144) either I've plenty of 1/72 night fighters waiting in the stash.
March 2009 sounds like a good start date.
Ciao

It seems that March to Sept. 2009 is a date that some can live with. How about the rest?

Haven't decided what to build, but it might have the words Black Widow in it.
