[quote]Morning all (at least it is here!) Has this campaing been officially accepted yet? Also, do we have to make a final decision on what we're going to build before we start? I have a couple of interesting ideas in mind but haven't entirely settled yet.]
Hello Michael: the campaign starts March 1, go to campaigns and select Night Stalkers then enter. Glad to have you aboard.

On the eve of the start of this campain......................I can't wait
I will be doing a P-61 Revel kit in 1/48th for this campain. It is such a mean looking A/C.
Hopefully I can do it justice.

A P-61 sounds good. Did Revell retool that kit or is it the old Monogram offering re-boxed?
I just looked at my stash and can't decide whether to do a F7F-N3 or a JU88-G6. Both are extremely cool kits. Right now I'm leaning towards the Junker (looking for an excuse to build a JU88.
Cheers,
Fred

@ Ted: An appropriate name for the P-61, don't you think?
@ Fredrick: I believe that Revell/Monogram still boxes the kit?

Nearly 1 1/2 hours into the campaign and I have signed up.
I have a Bf 110 - not the new flash Eduard or Dragon - but the Revell 1/32 110 G4. - something I found cheap on Evil Bay and on looking inside the box I can forsee much sanding and filling.
It is a long time since I have read Duel under the Stars (I have it in my bookcase somewhere) but I thought the 110 series is what the author flew.
I also don't have lots of (ground) space so I will be doing this wheels up to hang from the ceiling - luckily it has a crew!!!

Brian: welcome aboard and the only problem I think thay you will have is picking a scheme. The 110 had so many to choose from. BTW everyone has an advantage on that side of the world since it is not 3/1/09 here yet, you get to be the first to initiate the campaign.

Well I've officially started my Corsair. It's a Tamiya kit so I should have it buit, painted, and finished by this afternoon.
Actually, I have the cockpit done as of now and I'm cleaning up the fuselage halves and wings so I can start glueing them all together. I'll start a blog on the WW2 forum to save space here.

Well I started. I am going to try and build the 61 while I am working on my Focke Wulf. Mostly sanding and rescribing today. Nothing pretty to look at.

Good to see this campaign coming of to a good start.
I was planning on doing either a Me 109E or a Bf 110E for this campaign, but at last minute I got the idea to convert an old Airfix FW 189 to a night fighter. Now I cannot decide. decisions decisions decisions.....

Robert, were you looking for one of these ?
If you look at the pic below you will see how it's done. I used the scond button from left, copied the whole link and put it between the brackets, and finally wrote "these" where it says "linkname".
Good luck. Tony

Robert, which one of those 3 spitfires are you doing? I intented to build that Fokker I mentioned earlier, but having no experience with biplanes I decided to do either hurri or spit. I am asking, because I don't wanna take same as you did!

Tuomas: I like the red JU E of 111 Squadron, Debden, Essex March 1942. It does not state if the Spit is in gloss or flat black so I will just have to do more research.

My start will be delayed while I finish a commission, a resin Grob Vigilant from Heritage Models, difficult
Got the Roden 1 1/2 strutter out, drooled over it and put it back. Will be building the version with twin lewis guns pointing up at 70deg to the line of flight. I'll join you all soon

@ Tony: I have the downloaded images from last year, great site. My problem is in uploading photos since I have not done any for a while and the procedure has changed.
@ Andrew: Your thread has some mean looking gremlins on it, you are not having troubles with your commision. It is just those pesky little creatures that inhabit the box. Anyway waiting to see your 1 1/2 Strutter.

OK, got my Eduard Royal Class F6F (happy birthday to me!) Now, -3N or -5N? I'm leaning towards the -5N so I can use the 20mms!
Choices, choices!

Happy birthday, Michael I would also go for the bigger 20mm gun version.
I have been tempted by the Royal class set as well. Especially since it is now on sale. I am still trying to resist buying a third royal class FW 190
Hope you had a nice birthday

Here is where I'm at so far. This is an easy build being a Tamiya and she's going together beautifully.

Herman your pirate is comming along well, the paint looks great. I read an article on a night fighter squadron of F6F's and the maintenance was a nightmare regarding the radar unit on the wing. Vibration, dust, old vacumm tubes and the climate all took a toll on the equipment. Again a nice job, I will be waiting to see the finished product.

Here is my finished entry. I'll only post 3 pictures here to save room on this thread. If anyone wants to see more they are on my thread in the WWII forum. I also added a bomb under the fuselage since I read that this squadron made quite a few bombing runs. Thanks.

Spectacular Hermon, and so quick, it's done while I'm still thinking about it
