I got the wings decaled, and I am not satisfied with the way it looks. Luckily, some microsculpt decals showed up in the mail today. So I will be stripping wings tomorrow morning.

slight change of plans on this campaign. It seems I've got my fingers in a half dozen campaigns now. The D-520 will go to the La Marseillaise campaign. So what to do?
Well I just took delivery of my first Classic Airframes kit. Lots of resin bits and I'm interested to see how it tests my skills.
So for Stripes, its a Vichy Marcel Bloch MB-155

Jan as long as there is stripes you can enter it . Invasion stripes are alright . Few of the other guys are doing them . So no worries at all .
Carl , microsculpt deacls are fantastic . I used them on my last D.VII build and was very pleased on how they laid down . Just wish I had enough of the four colour for the on I'm doing online now . Ended up using Eduards ones which are far better then the Roden ones .
No problem at all Frederick , some of the other guys have made changes to there building plans . I'm looking forward to your MB 155 build !

Terri.... how stripey do stripes have to be?
I got my LVG and SE5a today........one has a zigzag band around the fuselage....the other tail flashes and bars/stripe options...... or am I gonna have to pick a stripier option from the stash........grins.
*starts carefully packing bits of Albi away as I speak.....

The microsculpt decals are on the wings. I used the texture decals over the lozenge. Let me tell you those decals are great to work with and the texture makes the wings look great. I am going to load up on these.

Started mine...WNW SE5a......tail flashes and striped struts as option E, 40 SQN
I have to say.....it just falls together.......very well designed the U/C for instance is so tight and precise it just clicks together in perfect alignment.
In fact I taped the fuselage halfs together and dryfitted most everything and it held with friction fit...I'm so impressed..... and the ribtape detail is.......exquisite.
Still plenty of scope to superdetail though

Hi all!
I have finally decided on what to build!
Some time ago I found a set of Super Scale decals at a model show, and I knew right then that I had to have them!
Then I did not have any kit to put them on, but they will fit the bill perfectly here!
So, I´m going to do a Academy F-86F Sabre in 1/48!
The kit;

The new decals, every Academy kit needs new decals as the ones in the box stinks!

Hope these are stripey enough!

Cheers!

Still waiting for my PE set to come in the mail . Hope it gets here soon but the Canadian Post can be known of being slow . We still use dog teams you know !

Well as a wingnut antidote. I've started my revell 1/72 se5a. At £3 you can get 30 of these to
one wingnut kit

.
Fit is actually really good. Essential for this scheme to work. I'll be able to paint the upper and
lower wings seperate from the fuselage. On the down side the exhausts are awful, interior
non existent, the texture is like sackcloth, and the struts come in a trench.
Exhausts removed and replaced with brass tubing. Wings sanded smooth, fuselage joined.
I'll be using the pilot to hide the lack of interior. Yes I am a chicken.
