Looking forward to get started

Welcome to the GB Jesper !
We can now sign up for the campaign folks . I still don't know how to add the link , tried failed , tried again with the same results .
If you go to CRS ( Chucks post ) Campaign proposals in queve and click on Camel vrs Fokker it will take you to where one can sign up you will have to logic in though .
I will be building Eduards Fokker Dr.1 in 48 scale and if time will let me the one in 72 scale as well .
I have this funny feeling that another stripe will emege off the work bench ...........................

Anybody else have one of these on their hobby table??
My grandfather was a Gallipoli and Western Front ANZAC in WWI and somehow managed to bring this home, it's the prop centre from an original F1. I am unable to identify the original aircraft as the serial numbers don't relate to the aircraft itself.
My Revell 1/28 F1 is a work that has been progressing for 10 years, I think I am just scared of reaching the rigging stage ! My intention is to display the model and prop centre together (eventually lol).

Hey Terri, I just finished up a Hanriot, and was trying to figure out What's Next. Picked up both of Eduard's WEED offerings in 1/48. So I'm looking forward to starting. I haven't done my homework, though. I'll get started on reading Sopwith Camel Vs Fokker Dr I asap.

Terri,
RIGHT! I've started working on the Roden 1/32 F.1. I have the Eduard set for it as well as having just received the Gunsight Graphics streak decals. My plan (I know, boring...) is Voss' plane. I have the Model Cellar 1/32 figure of Voss on the way as well.
And we're OFF!!

The interior of the Roden F.1, with some help from Eduard. I'll square up the ammo. boxes, etc., when the fuselage halves are joined.

I might try this one. Although I signed up for the French aircraft campaign, I seriously doubt I'll be able to work on that one. Because I have the Pheon JG.II decal sheet, along with the Gunsight streaking, I think it would be a good time to work on something to put those on.
So, tentatively I'll build the recently released Eduard 1/72 Dr.I "Weekend Edition" using the Pheon JG.II sheet and the Gunsight streaking sheet. Sure hope I can make this happen (life tends to get in the way of me having modeling fun, along with my "other" hobby).

Well.... not so fast.
I signed myself and my grandson up early, and we hope to start to get going this weekend.
We will be doing a Triplane (natch) the Revell 1/28 scale one - it will be his second model kit. I also have a Sopwith Camel started, Hobbycraft 1/32, but I may have a line on a Revell 1/28 Camel from the early 1990's, in which case we will be doing that one instead. My daughter's significant other, who is not a modeler, has one (he thinks) along with an F-14 (definitely not a biplane) - he'll give me the Camel if I build the F-14 for him. Sweet deal! It will be my first jet in a long, long time.
As subjects, we may build MvR's 'other 'red' triplane, and a Camel from 73 Sqadron RFC who were tangling with J.1 in March and April 1918. Perhaps Ronald Adam or William Stephenson.
We have until January, right?
I may not have pictures right away, but in a week or two.
Cheers.

Right, I'm almost ready to start....got my *stripes in the sky* entry on the home straight and should have her done this week.
So
choices
1/48th DrI Profipack:- nice options
1/48th Camel Profipack:- beautiful kit....rigging eek
1/32nd Academy Camel:- bit of a pig but I have the PofP set for it
1/32 Roden DrI :- Mmmm have the Eduard and PofP set, several marking options and some extra's from an indulgance long ago...does anyone remember Andreas Miniatures 1/32 try at the Tripe?
So I suppose you can tell which I will plump for, I have the Cutting edge decal set for Lothar's 454/17 but seem to recall some discussion about how much of this Tripe was actually yellow and the standard of finish......time to trawl the web.
Keith

Does anyone have an opinion on the best 1/72 Camel? Roden? If I can get hold of a nice kit, I'll be taking part in this campaign...
