". . .What can I say Stephen , but Fantastic ! How did you get the blue showing though the black ?

Thank you Terri, Its a by-product of the paint I used. More on that later. Note also how the coverage on the aileron has a couple of places that appear to sag or show to be overflexed to a small degree.

Great build, Stephen.

Terri, will you award ribbons based on finished builds in this tread or do we have a portfolio where we can upload the pictures?

Terri, I don't know how much if any combat with Camels Jasta34b engaged in. These were discarded machines from JG I, and I figured that JG I would have made contact with Camels at some point.

That looks magic Mobius, esp like the pilot. Been an armchair modeller these past weeks. Any chance of a wee extension so I can get the fokker rigged and wheels on, please?

I just need a couple of hours. However there are 14 folk in our house till new years day!

And they've been here since Christmas eve.

I love the company, don't get me wrong, I'll just be glad when they all go, God I sound
like an auld man

Once they all go and we get the washing up done, I'll get back to the bench.
And I now for the first time will actually have a bench, not just my knee. Can hardly wait!

Will be all done be the 4th I promise. Thanks Terri

Thanks everyone for making this GB interesting and fun. I really enjoyed the variety of Camels and Fokkers displayed. I also would like to thank Eduard and Model Cellar for their fine offerings. Also a special thanks to Terri for her work as our illustrious Obergruppenfahrfegneugenfuehrer of the GB.
Terri, I'm thinking another 2 or 3 months to get the Camel up and going...

Hi all, nice builds, wish I'd done a Fokker. Terri I too need an extension, so far I have a monoplane Camel with most of the rigging points installed (18) that now needs a repaint (fus is a different colour from the wing) and a top wing drilled but no rigging points fitted. I'll try to post some pics later today. I think I'll need till the 6th.

Terri: My Camel has failed to reach the finish line for this campaign. I was wondering whether you would accept my Fokker Dr.I review build, which was carried out in the campaign period?

I was thinking I would certainly finish the Camel in time, and I thought I could improve on the quality of the result of my first WWI build (the Fokker Dr.I)- so I didn't want to enter it in the campaign. I am still working all free hours I have on the Camel- had a nightmare getting the engine to rotate freely, and then had several disasters (ending in me tearing off the front cowling).

Mobious: Awesome build! Lovely paintwork.

Ben , you have put a lot of hard work into the build and it hasn't been a easy one at that .
Yes I remember your build review . You did a super job on it ! You can enter that for the campaign . The campaign did start before you did the review which was done on line benefitting the site . Post a link for it in the thread here Do you need a new cowl ? I have a few spares ......

Only a few more days to go guy's ! How are you all doing ?

Thanks Robot for the comments. I'd read in the Osprey book covering the Dr I aces that Oblt. Greim also had abit of trouble with the cowling. The cowling on his plane flew off during a dogfight.
Torch, The Lego Camel is great!
Terri, Looking forward to seeing a couple more too.

Thanks for the offer of the cowl, but I didn't damage it getting it off- the contact area for the plastic cement was very small, so it came away cleanly.

Nice one robot, thanks for sharing that. I really like your paint work. The subtle streaking of the fuselage is IMO, very nicely done. The yellow Dr I of Lt. Richtofen is definately an eye catcher and you've captured it spot on.

Flyboys Fokker Triplane Dr-1 1/72 Eduard
Flyboys Fokker Triplane Dr-1 1/72 Eduard
Flyboys Fokker Triplane Dr-1 1/72 Eduard

Finished. Well almost, I knocked off the steps lifting over to the table to photograph it
I couldn't rig the undercarriage or the control wires from the cockpit without making a mess,
so those are omitted. Rudder and elevator wires done with streched sprue and white glue. Great little kit this eduard 1/72.

Thanks for such an interesting campaign Terri.

Oh and comments welcome on the build.
