Hello Chuck:
I was in VP-8 (1972 - 1974) and aircrew on the P-3A/B. My squadron commander had a photo of an early P/3 taking off from a carrier, the name escapes me now (too many years). I would like to join the campaign to see the different builds and information that is shared with this thread.

Hi all!
I´m a BIG fan of the "Tailhook community", so I have to jump on this campaign!
Don´t know what to build yet as about 1/4 of my stash can be built within this campaign.
Some 1/48 kits comes to my mind; Swordfish, Buccaneer, F-4, F-8, A-6, F-14, FJ-4, F/A-18E, Seasprite, Seahawk, V-22 Osprey... well, the list can go on forever!
Yes sir, I have enlisted!
Anytime Baby!

Oh yes all signed up for this one, and a departure for me as it will be a 1/48 build
(the first in a very long time) as my stash is now filling up with FAA subjects from 1920's to present day. So if I can find cockpit pictures for it the build will be the first true FAA aircraft, the Fairey Flycatcher

Hi there
This looks a great campaign and I'll probably join in, but I'll wait and see how next year's builds are progressing before committing - I've had to back out far too often.
All the best

Thanks Jesper, needed a change of banner and with my present love of FAA this one is perfect.

Hi,
I will join with Rodens Gloster Sea Gladiator, and I'll paint it in RN colours. Gladiator series is one of my favorite biplane designs ever.

I have so many kits i could use for this...no point deciding just yet as i'll probably change my mind before start time anyway.
But leaning towards WW2 FAA at this time, maybe one of those hideously ugly contraptions from Blackburn or Fairey (who seemed to be in competion with each other to make the ugliest aircraft).

I'm planning on either an A-7 or F-14, both from Hasegawa. I almost hate to build the Tomcat since it's a $70.00 kit. Almost too expensive to mess up.

Hi JP. Now, you might know I've got some fuzzy lines in my builds, and have only sidestepped them lately with the Jug and the Würger. My question here is - must the specific aircraft have taken off and landed on a deck, or does an aircraft of a carrier landing type qualify?
It's hard when people want to step on the edges of the rules, huh?

Far be it for me to decide what is allowed or not. But since you ask the premise is for a carrier based aircraft.
or least one that has at least once been on a carrier. no takers on the c-130 yet
let us all know what you are planning though. If it is a spitfire in luftwaffe colours because a
spitfire once landed on a carrier the answer must be emphatically no

Hi JP
I've been building pretty easy kits so far for this years campaigns. So, I decided since this one has been in my stash for a few years and it's not the usual F-14 or Hellcat I'd go with it. This is Accurate Miniatures F3F-2. This will be my first biplane so I'll have to take my time with it.
Ready for the campaign to start! Hurry up!

Now THAT is a carrier aircraft. Great choice Hermon. Gotta love those colourful interwar US navy planes.

Great choice, Hermon. It seems like you have gotten a big interest in yellow for your aircrafts lately
I will go with an overall glossy blue Panther from the Korean war. Another true aircraft carrier aircraft in my opinion.

Hermon, I did that kit twice, and I have another in the stash. If you can figure out the main landing gear, you will love the kit. Check out the Accurate Miniatures Website. The have the numbering for each of the aircraft with the different squadron color schemes. I found it after I finished my last build. But isn't that the way modeling goes.
I think maybe a F9F panther for me. But since decals are Still on back order, maybe not. I do have numerous other possibilities though.

Carl, thanks a bunch for the heads-up. It's always great to know that someone else has done a kit before you so you don't have to go through any particular headaches yourself.
As I said, this'll be my first bi-wing aircraft so I'm gonna do loads of dry fitting and the rest will be research and OJT.
