Ok you lot, we're down to counting hours now instead of weeks or days.

Stefan and Warren, AWESOME jobs, both of you.

James, , sometimes you have to just cop it on the chin and bin it !! Sorry to see it happen though, and I'm sure you'll more than make up for it in a few other campaigns.

Current count is 44 enlisted, 20 finished, 2 MIA, and a few stragglers limping home on 2 engines but we'll be waiting by the tarmac when they land.

Cheers, D

Yalym, keep going on your build. This Campaign has been fragmented from the start and there are several builds still in progress. Everybody hits a wall at times and the only thing to do is push through. Just remember that this is a hobby to enjoy and not put too much pressure on yourself. I am looking forward to seeing your finished entry for this Campaign.

Cheers, D

Just outta interest, how many kits have got built in this "mini GB"? Seems like a hell of a lot and it's got a lot of great hints and tips for NMF's in the future.

Update
Ignore me, I just read higher up it is twenty.

That's great and 50% finishing is a marvellous result thanks for keeping this alive Damo.

Well, If I can add one last entry for this campaign. My 5 year old daughter Mairi wanted to add her plane to my pics. She built this silver Mig.

Now I have to admit that I did give some help - (cutting, cleaning, gluing, masking, painting... Pretty much built the lot as she has the attention span of the proverbial goldfish) but... She did do some of it and apparently it's her plane.

Oh, and no, she didn't want pictures (decals) on it, thank you very much!

Anyway, here's her model:

It now resides on her bedroom ceiling. The thing in front of it is "a Plane" and her first ever scratchbuild.

Murdo- she did a North Korean MiG! They aren't into too many marks either! The SB project is definatly proto project. If it was fun and a challenge for her then it is and always will be a success!
Good times for sure!

Murdo, you tell Mairi that i am honoured to have her join my campaign and that she is more than welcome to join in any future campaigns of mine until it becomes uncool !!

Very nice job on the Mig, and the SB project shows real promise for future works.

Yeah! What's up with the tiny fish avatar?! At first glance, I actually thought it was a herring!

Thanks again for saving this campaign, Damian! You even managed to get quite a few last minute entries in! The speed builds of these last day's have been a real thriller to follow! I have not had the time to comment on all the entries, but people have really put in some extraordinary effort in their projects! Great work, everyone!!!

Cheers! / PolarBear

Damian! Thanks a ton for taking the stick on this campaign. A truly fun experiance!
Bjorn! I like that Mirage more every time I look at it. Somebody make one in 1/32?

And now,if you please, a moment of silence for the P-51 and the Eggplane........................................

@ James: I've read plenty of reviews of both Eduard and Hobby Boss versions, and it is probably a tie. Best thing - the S.B.S. Models cockpit fits either one! I definitely recommend this addition to anyone who wants to build a Mirage IIIC!

@ Rick: Why thank you! Hopefully there will be a feature with additional pictures up soon. - I know that there is an old Revell kit of the Mirage III out there (early 70's?). I don't know if it is any good, but it sure is worth a try!!!

@ Damian: Just received the shiny ribbon! Thanks!

Cheers! // PolarBear

PS. On to the SAAB J 21's???

Rick, Revell have been producing a Mirage IIIC in 1/32 for decades. I used the kit to build a IIIR for the recon campaign last year.

Hey Damian, Nice job running the campaign! I would have loved to finish but a buddy of mine sent me some reference books with interior shots. They showed up last Friday and the AMS kicked in hard. On Monday I seriously considered trying to switch to an AM P-51C but I stopped myself after about 4 hours of internal debate (the main factor being this is my first aircraft model in 32 years).
I appreciate you stepping up and taking over. I also liked the way you ran it.
Again, nice job and thanks!

Hey Damian, Wings, engines, stabs, landing gear, Torpedo, basically everything other than the fuselage and glass is ready for paint. Still on the interior though. Once those reference books showed up I pretty much knew the chances finishing in time were slim to none, and slim done got up and left. It'll probably take about 4 times as long as everything else has at the rate I'm moving. I finished the Tail gunner's section, cut the door out of the fuselage, and am working on the waist. It'll be nice and detailed when it's done but I wasted (and am still wasting) a lot of time on stuff nobody can see anyway.
What did I learn (or what did I jog my memory of):
1. Test fit before detailing!!
1a. Start with the interior like everyone else and the instructions, goober.

2. Estimate my time to complete and triple it. It still probably won't be enough but I'll feel better in the long run.

3. Envy Damian! He has time for real life, modeling, and catching some nice fish.

4. Next time, build a Fighter.
Thanks again and I'll see you on the other builds.

No worries Charlie, I see you've submitted it to BBB now anyway, so hopefully you'll get a ribbon one way or the other. I'm looking forward to seeing some pics either way.

Thanks for the time and effort put into the campaign
