Heres a link that may help some get through their P-51B/C builds.

http://www.stclairphoto-imaging.com/360/P51-Mustang/P51_swf.html

Just left click and drag around this incredible 360 cockpit view.

Guy

Τhank you very much, it's really interesting

Is the floor straight or it is half-round, as Tamiya give it (bad English)

Can't speak to the Tamiya kit. But as the picture shows, the P-51's had a plywood floor in the cockpit, so a flat floor would be appropriate. P-40's on the other hand used the top of the center wing fuel tank as the cockpit, so some curve would be proper.

Hi all. I strayed over from armorama a few days ago. I usually do wings so think this is my new home!

I'd like to join in on you guys. I most moronly PMed Terri if could join with a speed build BEFORE I lokked at the thread.
Now ... I found out you guys go at it in an incredibly high pace anyways and Terri's not here to tell me so. Hm... better read next time before bugging her...

So, quick build, all right? I got a week of vacation and by the end a p47 and a p51 have to be completed. Both Tamiya, both with AM-Decals, no AMparts, just fun. That fit the bill?

Oh, Isn't it great to have girls amongst us btw (cheers to you, too, Samantha) ? Just a little sad this seems so exotic. Then again I think there are to few scalemodellers in general nowadays. I have kids someday, they'll get TV and Console restrictions up the kazoo but every bit of help and support in crafty hobbies....

Well, excuse my rambling, please, let's have fun and spread it, right? Greetings from Bavaria, looking forward to this!!!

OK, I made a tiny bit of progress last night... I mixed up some paint and painted the leather on the pilot and the seat. I also got started on trying to get a plywood coating on the floor board. not much but better than nothing..

Welcome back Terri.

I take it when you said you was going away fro a couple of months with no access you actually meant weeks

I will hopefully be getting started on my eggtang this weekend.

P.S. the offer of assisting with uploading the ribbon still stands if you want it.

They have just decided to play silly beggers with me. I bought the kit second hand and the decal backing paper was really yellowed decals are fine though still white as snow on the teeth and eyes. Went to do the eyes and as soon as they touched the water they practically disintegrated Thankfully Allen (Tomcat) helped me rescue them.

The decal sheet has now been coated with ---------- (something that the name escapes me at this moment)

Fingers crossed with this and Micro Set/ Micro Sol they might just buck there ideas up Most are on the kit is just the stencils to sort out (they are not my favourite part of decalling)

Tomcat, thanks for living what we all claim we do as modelers.

When Sam stumbled on the product, I was sure it was clear gloss laquer / enamel. Totally forgot the microscale products.

I'm getting a late start but here's my kit, decals and finished cockpit.

I'll be doing this one in scheme #3 "GOLIATH"
I didn't bother with a wash in the cockpit because I want to make this a quicky build (under a month)

Work Started on the Eggtang this weekend...

So far I got the pilot built and painted and the main bulk of the kit built. Just needs some more work in the cockpit and some seams clean up and it'll soon be of the the paint shop

Hi all, that's my Mustang, started yesterday:

I's going to be an RAF-one. And, yayyy, it's a B-Model, my absolute favoured WW2 fighter. Got a thing for all razorbacks, though, as you can see on this pic:

That's how far I got, planing on closing the fuselages now.

Have a nice evening!

They're decals, they do look rather feminine but i think it because they've taken a bit of an Anime approach to them

They're decals

Darn, I won't ask about your mad painting skillz.

Hard to say about the eyes, they looked feminine yeaterday, today not so much. I think it's the Anime style.

Hi kids, what i was up to:

I know it lokks kind of japanese with all the split off paint but I really was aching to do that, as my original plan for the vacation was a 32 Hayate with loooooots of chipping.
So, no bad words please, spur of the moment thing that it was....

Hope to do some sparse pannel shading tomorrow and put on the decals. As I told the pin-ups allready I'm sick. So hope I can drag my sorry behind to the workbench tomorrow.
Well, beer bed and wife will cure it.....

Good night, fellas and happy modelling.

OK. So, I'm signed up for too many campaigns and really don't feel like working on any of the models I'm supposed to. The obvious solution, of course, is: join another one!

I've done an Israeli Spitfire with the Pacific Coast kit and an Avia with the Hasegawa 109G and a resin conversion, I guess it's time to do a P-51. The plan, such as it is:

Sorry about how unfocused it is, guess that's my problem. But the headline does mention the "July job picture", so hopefully that's proof of non-startedness.

And:

Is anyone else already planning this?

Michael
