Here it is gentle folks our great GB is coming to an end. Just a few hours by my calculations, Bring it home and get the images uploaded to the gallery.

Who know what will happen in the WNW judging but as I said before Aeroscale staff are not competetors in that. Its members only, There will be a wrap up and the announcement of the WNW free kit winner. When ever contacting WNW please take the time to thank them for working with Aeroscale. Now to the finish folks. Model On!

Campaign Debriefing
Greetings all;
As we come to the end of this great campaign, I want to add that it has been a great learning experience for me personally. In the end out of 32 we have 18 entrants finished a total of 25 kits. The most prolific was our man Des Delatorre with 4 completed builds. Now don't think those half built models are going to just sit there. There is a bit of fun yet to come. I saw resin , plastic and brass media all coming together in grand fashions. I look forward to flying with all of you gentle folk again in the very near future. That sudden glint of light on your port wing is the sunset on this campaign. A snappy salute to you all, til we meet again in another Aeroscale Campaign.

This is Jack Flash outbound at angels seven.

I came late but this was a good campaign Stephen. Looking forward to the next one. I don't know if you could get to Angel's 7 in many WW1 planes though...

"Angels seven" indicates 7,000 feet of altitude. Even a rotary engined Fokker Dr.I has that as a ceiling. The Fok. D.VII could hit 15-16,000ft hence the first (liquid) oxygen tanks were used. But thanks for your concern.

Liquid Oxy in WW1.. I don't believe that is correct. The first liquid oxy experiments in aircraft were done in the 1920's.

Funny thing about beliefs. . .photo evidence usually has a way of disspelling them.

Here the war time censors tried to erradicate the pipe in his mouth and rubber hose leading down but they left half of it out.

They used gaseous oxygen but not liquid oxygen. I have some idea of the history as I used to be an Instrument Fitter in the RAAF for many years and one of their duties is maintaining oxygen systems in aircraft. Having to work on the systems I learned a fair bit about the history at the same time. But if you wish to believe they used liquid oxygen then that is all fine with me. Who knows what experiments went on back then, but I wouldn't like to have been anywhere near one of those old planes using LOX...

Thanks for your permission to believe what I like.

This image shows the methods used to fill the liquid oxygen canisters.

Ladies and Gentlemen! Drum roll please. . .

"Hi Stephen,

Everyone in the Wingnut Wings studio was very impressed with the quality and quantity of entries in your successful Wingnut Wings group build.

With so many great entries is wasn't an easy choice, but after lengthy selection by popular vote from Wingnut Wings staff these are the results;

1st OEFFAG 153 - Albatros D.Va
