Here's where I'm at...
I'm hoping to get a real move on now that my other project is in the weathering phase.
Thanks for the feedback on rigging, I'm off to find some thread at lunch today.

I've started painting by airbrushing the yellow wing stripes and rudder as well as the white fuselage band. The kit includes decals for all these color areas, but I prefer painting this kind of markings.
Next: masking the stripes and spraying the dark blue.

Hello All,
Looking Great. I am glad I made this campaign so long, I have time to get some other things done with out getting to stressed out. I have only looked at my build once and it looks like an easy build compared to all of yours.
Cheers,
Bruce

The Goose revisited
A long time ago, in a campaign far far away, I built myself a little Goose (Sword 1/72), see below. In my opinion, it is one of the prettiest little birds in the pond.
Simultaneously, TedMamere built an even bigger and better one, and - as I can recall - lauding the kit he was working with (Signifer 1/48). Now that I'm moving up to the BIG scale, I've been thinking of having another go at the Goose. To my great joy, I managed to get a hold of the Signifer kit. Even thought I've been leaning towards building an Israeli Catalina (Justin's build is very inspiring!) or a Swedish Dornier Do 24T for this campaign, I (almost certainly*) will opt for this one!
There can never be too many Geese, right Hermon?! Nice work on your bird btw!
In adherence with the protocol for this campaign - here's the "before" picture with the local newspaper.
Great start on this campaign, btw! Loads of goodies!
* This will be a summer project. I plan to build it in the Gothenburg archipelago, overlooking the water.
Cheers! // PolarBear

Very nice Bjorn....very nice indeed...
It looks like Sweden has super heroes too, or possibly power rangers.. ( referring to picture in newspaper)the newspaper certainly wasnt neccissary, but it is fun to see what goes on around the world..
still riveting here almost finished the fuselage..

PolarBear, I remember your Goose! And BTW you wouldn't still have that link from way back then for the civilian decals for the Goose would you? As I remember those decals you found were the reason I bought my Goose in the first place back then.

Here's my update.I have my engines in cowlings and painted ready for weathering after the klear dries tomorrow.Worked on exhaust and i didnt like the kit supplied exhaust so made my own out
of metal tubing.I did this by cuting them to length and filing them lightly.I then rubbed in various
colors of weathering powder till i got the desired affect.I think its an improvement.

Hi All
In the middle of renovating a room into a bedroom at the moment which is taking up a lot of free time. The Tiger Moth is coming on slowly, no real problems except of my making. There was a fair gap on the upper forward fuselage, that was caused by the added detail in the cockpit. It's a lovely kit, despite the colour of the plastic. The engine is a pretty accurate representation and all it needs is some additional lead wire for cables and pipes. I think I might try and acquire a couple more Revel/Matchbox Tiger Moths. Should be able to apply some primer in the next day or so.

Jim: "Zlatan" (or "Ibra", as they call him on the continent) is indeed as close to a super hero as we get. Born and raised in one of the rougher suburbs of my hometown Malmö, and now a megastar football player for Barcelona with a prize tag of approx. € 100,000,000. Makes you think! What if one had started to play soccer instead of staying home and building plastic kits!?
Justin: I truly mean it. Someday I'm going to build that Israeli Catalina (I already have the Academy kit and the IsraDecals). Sweden also had a couple of Catalinas (or Cansos) which were used for surveillance (read espionage) - one got shot down by a Soviet Mig 15 in a famous incident - but they look a tad boring with no armament and small or no bulb windows on the sides.
Picture taken in Malmö ca 1950
Hermon and all the rest - Here are a few excellent links for you!
-------
Seawings - almost all the info needed for sea plane builders and affectionados, gathered in one place! Loads of walk-arounds, kit prevues, decal options etc.
Draw Decals - With many decal sets for the Goose, the Widgeon and other aircraft (that's probably the one that I recommended before).
Goose Central - The name sais it all?
-------

Hello Justin,
Great build. Anyone in the water would love to see that plane coming to get them.
Are you going to put your build in any contests? I think you have a winner there.
Thanks for joining up,
Cheers,
Bruce

Hi Justin
Really nice! I like the subtle weathering. And you've finished before I've even started - now there's a surprise!
I envy you the space for one of these beauties - I've had the Revell's original PBY-5 in the Stash since it first came out, but I've never had room to build it!
All the best

That is an outstanding bit of modelling Justin. You must enter it in the model of the month. I think you have really set the standard.

Man that bird is beautiful...I have said kit in the stash and would love to see it turn out half as good as yours!
How'd you get the rivets to pop like that...wash, dry brush....?
