Okay guy's I have some pic's for you.
These are the replacement wings and as you can see I did cut out the top wing halves . Still not convinced that these are the best way to go and I think I over sanded , they are really thin . The lower wing is not the right shape where it meets the fuselage and for the prop clearance .
The top tail plane is from the kit after cutting the parts out and spending some time with the sanding trying to get the trailing edges thin ....well I gaved up and made new ones using 10 thou card with a balsa core of 1/32 think sanded to shape , which was very fast .
Here are the results of that , which is far better then what I though on how they would turn out . Not bad for a first go on this . Still have to cut the flaps away .
In the top pic , these came with the replacement kit and the lower pic is what came in the kit I'm working on now . Big difference in these parts . Won't be using these . replacement wheel will come the spares in Eduards DH-2 kit and the landing gear I will make myself
More to come soon

Hi Terri:
Fun is good, the SE5 and the Pfalz will always be there; no sense departing from this project if you are having fun and focussed.
Best

Thanks Mark
I dove right there and made new wings figuaring it would be more work trying to use the kit wings . Still have some finaling sanding to get the shape more uniforum and cut out the control surfaces . I used the datafile and pic's to get the center cut out for the lower wings . The part which is marked black needs to be removed for the fuselage section to go in it's place . The gull shape to wings still need to be done , but so far here are the wings at their current stage
Next will be the rudder and finsh off the detailing on the engine
more to come soon to a web site near you !

I think you should change the name of this top Scratchbuilt with some vacform and assorted parts..
Courageous work Terri when most of us would have just quietly put this one aside and chalked up a point to experience.

Couldn't agree more with the above statement.Terri's new scratch built wings are great and far better than the original set.

Hello, Terri- I've finally had a chance to give this thread the time it deserves to give a good read. Wow! Very impressive stuff- your scratchbuilt items are clearly superior to the kit bits. That little engine is looking quite nice- it'll set off that beautiful interior perfectly.
Cheers!

Hi guy's , no need to do the nail biting any more .
Cockpit is finished up now . Was going to add a few more bit's , but most of it you won't be able to see . So before the halves a joined together here are a few pic's of the pit .
I was able to find a vice a Home Depot so I can make the struts for this bird . Rest of the cut lines are on the wings , just have to do the cutting now . More on this later .....

Fuselage halves have been joined and the seems cleaned up . Lower wings are almost done as well few more bits to add .
Detailing on the fuselage still needs to be done , but I hoping to have pic's up later today or over the weekend . School work comes first .
