I'm looking forward to it although I probably won't start closer to July.
I'm planning on doing an AH-1E Cobra Gunship in a Fort Rucker trainer scheme; overall Olive Drab with bright red panels beneath the cockpit. Very striking.

OK just signed up for this one, options for me are one of the following 1/144 Dragon SH-60 or HH-60 or MH-60 kits but could be a Revell CH-53G or CH-47. I'll wait till I've finished whats on the bench then decide, but with my push for all things US Navy at the moment I'm leaning in a certain direction.

The kit I'll be doing for this campaign is the AH-1F Cobra from Hobby Boss except it isn't an AH-1F at all. It's actually an AH-1E also known as the AH-1S (ECAS). Hobby Boss have another Cobra kit called the AH-1S which is actually the AH-1F.
This shows us two things; the first is that Hobby Boss is prone to mixing up their helicopters and the second is that the U.S Army are not terribly consistent with their helicopter designation system.
I'm planning on finishing the Cobra as a Fort Rucker training helicopter as seen above. However I've just started fiddling around with the cockpit and the seats are to wide to fit.

I will probably go for a Mi-24 Hind D. I recently picked up the 1/72 ESCI kit for 5 USD on Ebay.
I recall building this many years ago and remember some interesting marking options being included, so I plan to go for something exotic

One would guess the regular turqouise blue or egg blue, whichever you prefer, but after checking I've actually seen many variants. The instrument panel is certainly not that color. Best reference I noticed was someone else's work.

I'll be building Revells 1:48 AH-64a Apache. Straight out of the box. No scratch no after market. I'll make due with what I have.

Hey! Logan are you going to do your AH1 in IDF?
Bob
I'll be modelling the Cobra after some pictures I have of a Cobra at the US Army Aviation Centre in Fort Rucker, Alabama. The helicopter is overall Olive Drab with bright red panels underneath the cockpit, very striking I think.

Here's my bird.
I'm running behind on a few campaigns at the moment, so it might be a month or two before I get started.

I am going to build the Hasegawa 1/48 SeaKing. I am using the SB Decals US Navy SeaKings hi vis part 1 to model the HS-4 Black Knights aircraft which was used for Apollo capsule recovery. This also requires the Belcher Bits sponson set to make it more accurate.

Hello all. I find myself tonight 6 hours from home in a motel room in Mount Gambier, South Australia. Conveniently I have a few hours ti kill before sleep hits, so I have with me a small travel kit of tools and my build for this Campaign
Here is a shot of the parts
And Glencoe even threw in a few guys to keep an eye on me and yell at me when I slack off
I have the option of an overall OD scheme with black bumpers, or the experimental version scheme of white body, silver blades and vanes, and black bumpers. I'm leaning towards the latter.
I will post a few progress pics as things get moving.
Cheers, D

Hey D, go with the OD version and send my army men back. I have been looking for them ever since 1963. I remember the kit but never had a chance to see one, this will be a treat to watch. I just hope it will not be another F82

Probably won't see much headway until I knock a couple other projects off though, particularly my YF-107 for the Century-series GB which finishes at the end of the month.
