Here is my start of the Special Hobby Fl. 265, a small little thing which fits in nicely between my other projects. I am disappointed with the macro capabilities of this point and shoot. So bare with me until I get a proper camera, thanks.

The office is quite sparse. according to instructions had to make canopy frame and propeller shaft.

It's been a while since I've updated. I've been working slowly on the Cobra and its just about ready for its gloss coat.

Thank you; the pilots were brought over from an Airfix kit but I think they suit the helicopter.

Been a bit occasional lately but I have a Whirleybird to build so can I play too? Building an Italieri Bell AB-47 in 1/72. Building as a British Army "Sioux", one of the kit options

I just went for a ride in a Bell 47 about a month ago. Very unique looking, yet a nifty aircraft. I am debating between a couple kits I have in the stash, between the revell huey hog kit, or a Mi-24 Hind. Oh the choices...

Some more updates; the Cobra has been decaled and weathered. I've added the rotary blade but it's very flimsy and I've had some problems with the landing struts breaking off.

Either way it's only the weapons to be added now.

First pics of the 47. Impressive kit, the tail boom looks far more difficult than it is.

This is a fun build, wish I'd bought 2 now.

Coming along very nicely there Andrew!

I was originally going to enter this campaign with an Italeri Hind-E but after coming across some major fitting issues, I have decided to bin it and start off again with another Italeri one, their 1/48 AH-64D Apache. So far so good with the fitting.....

Already got the cockpit pieces primed and base colour down. Post some more progress pics soon.

Well I finally got some more work done on my project so I thought I would post a couple of in-progress photos.

I decided to resurface the top of the base with craft sticks to make it look like a wooden platform since that is what the real PKZ-2 was launched from. Still have work to do and I hope to post another in-progress photo soon.

Nice choice of kit, Nick. I will follow your build with interest. I have this kit in my stash, so will be interested in hearing about any issues you encounter.

Cool build, Randy!

Cool build, Randy!

Thank you Justin and Jesper, I appreciate the kind words. I still have a lot of work to do on my project. I hope to get quite a bit more finished today as I have a nice lazy Sunday ahead of me.

Thanks again.

Sorry about your personal news, I know how you feel, running these things is enough for anybody. Hope it goes well.
Bell AB-47 finished, but, as usual I am not 100% happy, wish I had bought 2 , I think I could have got the second one a lot better. Time was pressing and there are two big mistakes I could not rectify, one I couldn't see until too late. The mast apparently leans forward which means the engine must be slightly mis-positioned, however there is a lot of play at the bottom of the mast which makes it look worse. The engine appears to be upright and the top can't go any further back so it will have to do.
The tail rotor drive is slightly humped near the tail, should have dry fitted it better, impatience, always my weak point.

I still like it, it has the same sort of character as a Golden Age Biplane

Count me in on this one, I finally decided: Hobby Boss Mi-8MT/Mi-17 in 1/72. It is beautiful in an ugly way.

I'm looking forward to seeing this, it's one of those helicopters I've had my eye on.

I should have some pictures up in the next few days of the finished Cobra.

Hi to all. I am posting in Aeroscale after almost 4 months. Was unable to access the forum due to some ISP issues and finally managed to get it working

Here is my entry. A Revell 1/72 Mi-24 Hind. Still undecided on the marking but it would be one of either a Soviet AF one or an Iraqi AF one.

And the story so far.....
