Good job Raj and John - those are very nice builds!
Les - great job with the weathering and the photography!
I've started work on my entry....Georg Scott's Fw190A-6 from the 1:48 Eduard kit. I decided to do a build log, so you can see it here: Fw190A-6
Man, I hope this linky works - first time to do it!

Tom

Matrixone, your FW 190 is really nice. Paintjob is awesome and definitely gives a battered look to the machine. Congrats!

Hello,
Here is my entry for the FW190 'Wurger' Campaign.
I'm a bit late, because I had decided to finish a few other projects first, but modelling time has been a bit sparse this year, and sometimes stuff just takes way longer than planned - I'm sure you know what I mean.
Anyways, as I promised 5-6 months ago, I will be building Hasegawas 1/32 scale Fw190A-5.
I have decided to use the markings of D5-XV belonging to 10./NJG3, Nachtjagdkommando 190, Aalborg-West, Denmark, winter 1944. It was a standard A-5 day fighter used for hunting RAF Mosquito's at night (without much success, though). The only change from day fighter specs was a darkening of the camoflage with RLM74 on the upper surfaces.
This is the kit and goodies (the magazine from this year is there to prove that I didn't start ahead )
See my build thread here:
build log
Cheers

I'm in finally.
Going to build straight oob, aircraft DN + FP of SG4 as seen on the box. Sources seem to differ on the camo scheme for this bird, some indicating Lichtblau RLM 76/Dunkelgrun RLM 83 for the upper surfaces, others Grungrau RLM 74/Grauviolett RLM 75. The former doesn't make much sense to me as the lowers would also be Lichtblau and the aircraft (in actual photos) is clearly tri-colored. I don't believe the lowers would be Hellblau in '44....

Thanks for your comments, guys - much appreciated!
I have made a bit more progress.
The IP/gun sight coaming has been fixed, and the engine has been painted and weathered:
Engine has been painted and weathered:
Also added some Eduard PE to the wheel wells and glued the wells to the wing.

Lots of really really quality builds have been coming together nicely on this campaign. I've been spending the past week mulling over what my next "new" build will be. The "Fighter Campaign" doesn't begin for a month and I'm not certain what I'd build for the Support AC Campaign. I really like FW-190s but that poses another problem: I have four different kits in my stash waiting to be built. After a week of consideration its down to a DML Dora or an Eduard A6. After much consideration I've decided to start with the A6 (if only because I've yet to build an Eduard kit and because I already have the correct masks for it.) So...
... here we go!
Cheers,
Fred

To say there were fit issues would be an understatement...
Are older dragons always so fraught? I'm not lying I actually had to double check the box to make sure there wasn't another pair of wings in there. It's really a bad little model so far.

Isn't that just the old Trimaster kit? I thought those were supposed to be 'state of the art' 15 years ago?

Update time:
Wings and tail planes have been mounted. The engine cowling still needs some work.
I'm currently removing sink marks and erronous hatches. Soon it will be paint time (always looking forward to that)!

Very nice indeed Chris. May I ask? Were those home made insignia masks? If they were pre-fab, what brand were they?

Very nice Chris indeed. Love that checkerboard pattern on the nose! Looks great. Very good job painting the markings on too. Enjoyed looking. Russell
