I'm guessing that you have to be a member of the forum for the pictures to be visible. All I can see is "Attached thumbnails".

Sorry, I didn't realize that. But its a free to join, and one heck of an aircraft research site.

Thanks Siderius, ya they are 1/72nd. Had to shift to a smaller scale to keep from just taking up large amounts of space! Anyway, I finished my dual build!
Thanks for looking and Awesome Campaign idea!!!

Beautiful builds, Michael. They look really good. I thought they were actually 1/48 before I read your text. Very nice entries in the campaign!

Hi Bruce, good luck with your conversion. It might actually turn out to be easier then building the Eduard 190. I have built the Tamiya kit, and like most of their products it went together without a fuss. My entry in this campaign was Eduard's Fw190 A-5; it turned out ok, but it took a lot of work to get that way. The areas you pointed out on your A8 were the same areas I struggled with on my build. The scary thing is that I have both Eduard's A6 and A8 in the stash!

So...this was the cockpit I had finished for the Eduard Weekend kit, just plastic as the Weekender does not have the photo-etch included in it.
This photo shows how far I got before giving it up as a bad job and decided to go a different route.
I thought to go with the Tamyia kit because it is still relatively inexpensive and readily available.
The only problem now is the markings I want to do are for Staffelkapitan Max Stotz who flew with 5/JG54 in 1943. His a/c was an A-5.
The plane looks to be mostly black over RLM 79, but is actually RLM 71/RLM 70 over RLM 79/RLM 80 with RLM 76 undersides.
I am going to use the Eduard A-8 as a donor for the pieces I'll need to update the Tamyia A-3 to an A-5. These will include the rudder, the radio antenna mount, and the engine cooling louvers.
well, looks like the fun is about to begin...again

Thanks Jesper! I had to switch to a smaller scale for a bit as the display case is running out of room!

@Micheal, fantastic looking 190's. Camo looks great. Hope I can do half as well
@Ernest, Eduard has a great reputation for their kits. I am hoping that I just got a duff fuselage since I was very impressed with the amount of detail included in the box. and other than the issues I had with it, it was going to gether very well and looked great. Oh well
I detached the parts I needed from the A-8 using my trusty razor saw. Along with the rudder and the larger armoured headrest I should be all ready to start modifying the A-3.

The Monogram Fw 190 is coming together. The kit is a mix of several versions, but I think I have build it as a Fw 190G-3 with the details in order - as far as I can see in the limited references available to me right now.
I had an old display stand laying around, so I mounted it on the stand to show of the bomb load and drop tanks.
Does anybody have any pictures or marking options for a G-3 version? I only have the one from the old Dragon kit.
More to follow

Jesper: looking forward to seeing the rest of your build!
I can attest to the toughness of the edward kits! I did one over summer, and it was tough... particularly the engine, and getting it to fit just right!

Here is the start of my Fw 190C-0 (V20/U1) which was built under the Höhenjäger II project designation. Eventually a predecessor to the Ta series. I am using a R.V. Resin conversion which supplies the fuselage halves, props, air intake scoop and some photo etch. The base kit is the Italeri D9 which is a Dragon/Trimaster mold. Strangely when using the Dragon kit you get the early canopy yet with the Italeri you get the blown. For the extended wings I am using wings from a Ta 152H dragon which were left over from another conversion. I taped the wings together to see how the fuselage would fit. With some judicious sanding I got them to mate. (Photo coming) The cockpit was assembled to see what needed to be done for it to fit within it confines. As noted previously some fine sanding for it to approximate the appropriate position. (photo coming)Camera is on vacation thus a delay. On with the show.
Jesper, all I have is the Dragon G-3 decals which give the stam letters. DNFP in a 74/75/76 scheme. The G-3 was based on the A-6.

Hi all
just started yesterday. I'm building 1/32 Fw190 A-6 checker nose. first I assembly the cowling to test my masking.
I decide to build it with no aftermarket. just add little detail such seat belt and rivet
I'll post more progress soon

Well, I decided to with plan "B" for the engine air cooling louvers. This means I won't be cutting up the front end of the A-3 kit Something I was not looking forward to. Instead I will cut doors from some sheet styrene and glue them in place. In the meantime I did remove the fin tips from the fuselage halves, and the rudders. So this is where I stand right now.

Some great builds are going on here, folks! Nice to see you're all busy building Würger ....
Well, I have successfully uploaded a few new photos of my builds in the gallery. Some more pictures you can see in my own little WW 2 thread.
Happy modelling!

A bit of a late starter but I'm in as well! I'll do two Ta 152s, a C and a H, in 1/72.
Starting with the small stuff as usual!
Build blog is here!

Michael, Nice work on those 2 190D's the camo looks great.
Chris, just wanted to ask you about your masking of the nose (It looks very neat by the way) why dont you paint the white first and then mask?

Thanks Mark!
Chris: what are you using as the mask? It looks like its more rigid then the tamiya tape I would normally use, and was thinking of trying my hand at a checker nose aircraft. Looking forward to seeing more of your progress!

Ok an update on my builds, prop disc cut and one painted base colours on but mottling still to be done. Landing gear still to do on the D-9'd just trying to sand down the wheels so the doors will fit in the closed position, pilot is in for one while the other pilot is being chopped to fit the cockpit.

A beautiful little scene, Luciano. It looks cool. Looking forward to see more.
I have made a little more progress on my FW 190G-3. The basic camouflage is now on. Next is the details and the decals.
