I've also started my project this morning (and enlisted as well, I wasn't aware that I hadn't done it earlier ).

This kit...

...and some progress! I'll do both kits that come in the box in parallell.

I have started a build blog that can be found here

I am about to regain full control after new years eve partying . Please do not mind any spelling or grammatical mistakes in my today´s post

@ Samantha: when I feel better I think I will have some Gummibärchen!
@ Paul: nice selection!
@ Magnus: cool looking MiGs! What kind of color options will you choose?

The Starfighter is ready for assembly.

Hi and a Happy New Year to everyone! This will be my first group build on this site, but I could not resist such a cool campaign. While I usually build in a bit larger scale, I have really liked the cool kits available in 1/144. I build a lot of airliners in 1/144 but for this build I decided to do something a little different.

I am going to make an attempt to build the Micro ACE F-15J in one of the many colorful JASDF Anniversary markings. Here's the kit and box art:

I don't know who originally produced a kit from these molds but I suspect that they have been around for a few years. There is no cockpit but I have an idea on how to tackle that small problem.

Anyway, let the games begin!

Have fun modeling!

Gary, beware the decals with this kit, I built it some years ago and the decals in my kit were opaque which I only found out when I applied them. Other than that a nice simply build.

Middle_F, my man! Hope you're feeling better already! PM's an the way btw.

I'm not yet completely shure what I'll contribute but I think it#s going to be the Revell Tyohoon in RAF markings.

See you soon!

Managed to get a fairway with the kit today in a couple of hours while waiting for paint to dry on a review kit and decalling another model. I think there will be a fair bit of sanding work but dont think its going too bad for my first attempt at an airliner

Paul beware they are addictive now you can see why I have twelve built and another eight in the stash.

Now my build when the time comes will either be the other Me-262A out of the Eduard box (first being used in the Fw-190 campaign) or another F-14 Tomcat.
Hope to make a start end of this month, start of next.

I'm building an airliner too, A 727. I got a good price for an Airfix kit.

The copyright date on the plastic is 1982.
couple of non-kit features,
I found an ATP decal for Continental Air Micronesia, a Kwajalein regular.

The -200 fuselage is lain aside. Air Mike had both -200s and -100s, but its the shorty I want to build, which were in service from 1968.
I have ordered an OZMODS fuselage from Australia. I wont be doing much work on this for possibly a few months. oh well. plenty of other irons in the fire.
Wings wheels, tail, engines and details in the Airfix kit all look good.

The one thing you must do to correct the Airfix wings is to move the potato chip fence from the trailing edge to the leading edge. I usually cut a notch with a razor saw, glue in a piece of plastic card and then trim and sand it to shape.

I don't know whether you have window decals; you'll need them to use with the OzMods fuselage. Draw Decal does an FAA sheet you can rob the windows from. He may even do you a set of just windows if you ask.

Lots of enthusiasm around here ! Nice to follow your builds!

Jonathan I would say Sweet kits are about as good as they get when it comes to tiny scale! I have several and they look absolutely marvellous in the box, I have yet to build one though!

I've had my first painting session this morning!

The ATP set has windows and doors and detailed instructions for the several variants and some interesting historical information as well.

Paul! Interior blue is Gunze paint according to the Eduard mixing instructions (60% H25 + 20% H26 + 20% H35) with some added white H11 and light blue H45. It maybe should have been a bit more greenish but it really doesn't matter on this size of model I think!

Hi Jonathan! A few years ago I also did a B727-100 for a GB on a different site. Like yourself, I used the Ozmod -100 conversion kit and an old Airfix 727 kit that I had in my stash. Overall, the build was pretty uneventful but I did have some problems with the Ozmod fuselage pieces being warped and the nose looking a bit too pointed (like a BAC 1-11) after assembly. Here's the final Ozmod 727-100 build after I modified the nose to make it a bit more blunt.

Have fun modeling!
Mike
