Jesper--------------Great looking Flanker. I like the contrast of the colors in your camo.
I worked on my SU-25 from the Equatorial Guinea AF. I have applied the four-tone camo. Just need to tighten up some of the demarcation lines on top and touch up the duck-egg blue underneath and then I will start drawing panel lines.
Best wishes, Ian

Jesper - Nice work! A very colorful Flanker!
Ian - Looking good! I love high contrast cammo, that is going to be a stunner!
My Su-9 is nearly done. No pictures yet, but I have started applying decals, and should be ready to stick the last little parts on tonight. Pretty happy with how it's coming-out. Amodel kits are a real trial, it seems they always look like a horror-show while under progress, and I spend lots of time worrying how they ever will come out looking good, but in the end they always seem to come together really well.

Hey, Julian!. Thanks for the kind words. Still have a couple of touch ups to do on the camo and then I will be ready for the panel line work. A very fun build so far!

Beautiful job on the camouflage, Ian. Looking forward to see more.
Thanks for the comments on my Flanker, guys. Appreciate it! Here it is finished Sukhoi. I kept weathering light although some of the real life Flanker pictures show paint worn of to the point of the metal showing through(!)
Comments welcome

I'm calling it! The Su-9 Fishpot is done!
I have not affixed the canopy permanently yet, because I might go back and give it a coat of semi-gloss to perk it up a bit. I may also bite the bullet and order some Alkali missiles for it, but in principle it is finished. Final bits included the main gear actuating pistons, which I replaced with telescoping aluminum tubing, the pitot, which was made from the same, and the data boom on the nose, which is actually plastic rod, with a tiny bit of brass wire on the end. Apart from that & the seat, it's all out of the box. Markings were scrounged from a couple of really old sheets, one I believe was from a KP MiG-19 (printed by Propagteam) and the blue nose number from the old Cooperativa Su-9 kit. The decals were just about the only thing useable from that whole kit! Paint of course was Alclad, five or six different shades IIRC.

That looks much too clean. It must represent a brand new example fresh from the factory
Very nicely done!

Hello everyone, I've been away for too long, so I thought I'd just do a quick update on my SU-27ub Flanker 'C' build. I had a month or two of not doing any modelling, but realising that I had to get this done before the end of January, I picked it up again early in the new year. I have now completed the main build, I've painted it using Alclad paints and WEM colours for Sukhois. I have siimply got to complete the decals and clearcoat it and it should be done.
I will post photos when I get chance to upload them. Because I was running out of time I haven't taken any photos during the build after my last update, but I have some post paint and pre-decal, and then I'll take some on completion as well.

I really enjoyed this build, the trumpeter kit is almost perfect, it goes together very well and needed very little filler and sanding etc.

Greg and Richard, both aircraft models are outstanding! Thanks for sharing them with us. The natural metal finish on the Sukhoi-9 looks excellent, the two blues on the Sukhoi-27 are very nice as well. Russell

After spending far too long away, the Superjet returns to grace these pages, wearing a suitable set of plumage.
The flash reveals the thin spots in the blue paint. Luckily it's on the underside, and normal human eyes don't flash so brightly.
And for scale, here's Revell's S-47, to show you just how large a Superjet really is.

Hi All,
Some great builds here.
Made a lot of progress on my SU-35 and finally got some paint onto it. I doubt whether I can finish in time.
The cam scheme is close to the colours shown on the box art, but with a little variation.

Beautiful builds, Richard and Greg.
Greg, your build looks very clean, but it allows one to see the various NMF shades. Looks great.
Great camouflage job, Rob! Love the pixels camo.

Zvezda's decals are extremely thin, flimsy and want to wrap up into little balls at the slightest provocation. I had massive problems getting the orange stripes to not curl up, tear or otherwise fail. They also much rather stick to my fingertips than the model where they're supposed to, yet if I get them even slightly out of position, they'll stick down amazingly stubbornly. If I didn't want to build this little beast out of the box, I'd be looking for an alternate colour scheme about now.
Yes, Russian on the left and English on the right is correct.

I'll be finishing the scheme tonight and hopefully will get decals on tomorrow.

Greg-----Great looking SU-9. I like the panel variations in your NMF.
Richard----I like the Flanker. The two-seater is truly a beautiful airplane.
Rob----Oustanding looking digital scheme!!! Very well done.
Jessica---Sorry about the decals but a great looking Sukhoi nonetheless. I have run into similar issues with Roden decals and they really can be hard to deal with.
I continued work on my Equatorial Guinea AF SU-25. Panel lines are drawn and the subassemblies are built as well. Also scratchbuilt some intake and exhaust covers. Should be ready to Future and decal this weekend.
Best wishes, Ian

Some great builds here, I really like the metal finish on the Su-9, a great camo by Rob, great finishing by Jessica despite the decal troubles it looks bery good !
Ian, I have a few questions considering the painting, because I'm building a Su-39 and the paiting guide is a mess, no colour guide for the weapons and wheel bay..could you post a photo of your painting guide for those items ?
Also what did you use for drawing the panel lines ?
Great work with the Guinean camo scheme !
