Richard,
I don't mean to be a pain, but Steve already proposed an Ar240C-2 and indicated that it was an unbuilt proposal for a prototype aircraft. As such, it seemed to be a "what-if" which the rules don't allow. I'm sorry, but I feel like I need to be consistent.
If the 262 or 219 are only minimally started, I'm more than willing to give one a pass given that we are almost a month in already!
Michael
Thats a shame, I hadn't realised that prototypes weren't allowed.
Well, the other two are progressed up to the point of the fuselages being put together, the wings for the 262 are also together, I would think that might be too far along for a group build, but if it's ok with the group I'll do all three anyway and update on all of them, just because I like nightfighters!
I'll try and find a new kit in the meantime as it gives me a perfect excuse to pop to the model shop!

The problem with the Ar240C-2 is that it wasn't even a prototype (especially since many German prototypes were used operationally before entering production). The C-2 was merely a proposal which was never built.

@Adam: You're not kidding Adam that's a fast built and it look like you used little or no filler. Looking good fella!
No filler yet, but it does need a bit at the wing roots and where the rad intakes join. Lovely little kit for its era, although I doubt that current releases of it are in anything near as nice condition given the molds are 35-40 years old.

Nice work everyone! Sorry again Steve, we'd love to see your work though!
Just about ready for paint on the Tamiya 1/48 Mossie NF.XIII:
I'm going to use Tamiya's RAF paints but don't have Medium Sea Grey yet (got the RN Light Grey by accident). Hopefully LHS has it.

hello everyone,
Wow, we have some seriously fast builders on this campaign.
So I decided I'm going in with this long nose Ju88
[url=http://www.flickr.com/people/rochinhas4/]rochaped38only thing missing is another QB upgrade to replace those inaccurate spinners and some etched parts to boost up the glasshouse.
This is the chosen plane

@Damian: Yeah I had kinda noticed that D .... LOL I'm actually in the process of dirtying them up so they don't look so out of place! I'll post another pic of the completed Cat and tail stand when I'm done probably later tonight my time.
@Christian: I'm so looking forward to your build, this kit is so on my "NEED" list! LOL Yes I had read that the kit was a mixed bag as far as details and quality were concerned I'm hopefully putting it down to new moulds and the size of them that the operators haven't found the ideal setting for it yet.
Still I intend to purchase one of these kits as soon as I can! LOL build log to follow watch this website ..... uh as soon as I've finished the one I'm doing currently.... better finish that first!

Much more betterer Chris. The only thing you could add is a small trail of blood down the side of the crate where the poor groundcrew got his fingers caught under the tail of the Tiger.
Great work mate !

Michael,
This is how far I have got on the ME 262 and He 219;
http://smile.webshots.com/smiles/63549a304b960130778712313f029a84http://smile.webshots.com/smiles/6605d3c04b960130721622000abc820dhttp://smile.webshots.com/smiles/68bfb3104b960130776412313f029a84http://smile.webshots.com/smiles/5de66c604b960130778112313f029a84I think they are probably too far along to enter into this build, but let me know what you think.
I will still try to get down to the model shop some time this week and pick up a new kit anyway, I'm toying with the idea of picking up an airfix mk vb spitfire and doing it as the all black mount of Sgt Peter Durnford with 111 squadron marked as JU-H flying night interception, that is if I don't find a purpose built nightfighter kit for sale!

Hi Folks lots of good stuff happening here
My Black Widow is built and now comes the small stuff so progress will slow down
I managed to get all the glass on but this has got to be the cheapest clear plastic I ever dealt with
Now I need to paint the supports on it and started applying the markings too. Again here the instructions dont tell you were to put half of them so Im going by the box art
And yes it a tail sitter but thats ok cause it will be hung from the basement ceiling

Richard,
Yeah, I'm afraid you're right on the 262 and 219. A black Spit would be cool though! Thanks for understanding and I'm looking forward to what you go with!

Since I read that prototypes are not allowed, and to save the hassle I decided to drop the Ju 388 and build the Bf 110G-4/R3.Flown by Gruppenkommandeur Mjr.Paul Korner of III/NJG 5. Profile provided by Kagero. I do have a few correction sets and the build book. Will try and build this kit without using the correction set.

Some nice progress here, guys. Need to ask, does a meteor nightfighter qualifies for this campaign?

I think the rules say up to 1955, which certainly was after the Meteor Nightfighters came on line, so I would consider one valid for the campaign.

Thanks for the support, not doing anything fancy for this build. I might drop the flaps. In reading the how to book the author states that the landing gear sits too far forward thus he places the attachment point higher into the well. Though he does not state how far. Need to look into this, any assistance would be helpful. Thanks. Will be a test build for the others that are waiting in line to be built.

Mmmhh...
Let me guess... that is a Black Widow, isn't it?
No, really - there are not many of them to be found in a completed status. That does have reasons! Well done, braving the challenge!

You are absolutely right, Guido! That nearly 40 years old Revell/Monogram P-61 isn't an easy "Add glue and shake" kit. It never was and it will never be. I also had several nervous breakdowns during my dual build in 2010.
Sal, that's really a nice build. You did a great job, my friend. Now your Widow sits on the shelf and you can be proud of it and forget all the troubles you had. I also enjoy looking at my 2 beauties nearly every day ....
I nearly forgot to upload 2 pics of my new Tigercat to the campaign gallery ....
Well, I did it now and if you like have a look
here for some more.
Happy modelling
Torsten

Directions sux Flash and fit big problems Clear plastic paper thin and horrible fit Decal placement So here is my results
Great job Sal, no doubt this kit requires a degree of skill (and a lot of patience) but the results are well worth it ! Still the sexiest aircraft ever built.
BTW the Hobby Boss thirty-tooth scale P-61B is on pre-sale at IH right now, due for release early spring . . . just sayin'
Cheers, D
