Robert, I like it!
Bob, Iain, Joe and Jose, I like what I see, and believe that you'll all make it! This build has and is producing some nice ones!
I've wrapped mine up as well. Went to work on the topside and did the markings. While it turned out ok, I don't think I'll do the markings this way again.
I did the white for the markings which were Yellow, white and red. Masked and did the colors, and then did the camouflage, and finished the markings.
The white
Yellow stripes
A small war with the white command stripe.
Victory!
All areas masked and primed.

I did the camouflage using Tamiya Deep Green, Brown each lightened with some white, and my Olympos airbrush. I'm getting a much better handle on using it, and will admit that the 3 hour session seemed to fly by. This was a most enjoyable free hand experience!
Off came the masks and revealed minimal amount of touch up, all around the fuselage stripe. A mopping up exercise from the war before! At this time I also added the stylized 7's for the 77th Sentai, using mixed emerald green for the port side and a dark blue for the starboard. These are a bit hard to see on the background, though my research indicates that this how they did it.
Next I washed with a mix of darkened burnt umber with a bit more dish soap than I've used in the past, and this really allowed me to control the wash much better. My first attempt using Tamiya smoke for exhaust stains went a bit awry, but I was able to turn a run into an oil leak.
Finally the radio mast and off to the photo booth! I chose not to add an aerial wire as I plan to move this one with me.
So here it is, Captain Kuwabara's K-27B of the 77th Sentai after about day 2 of the invasion of Malaya. Shortly after this it was on to Burma to go up against the AVG. Hope you like it.
Thanks,
John
