Robert Jan,
I don't know about anyone else, but all I'm seeing are links, no photos.

Lovely progress in this thread! This campaign is really alive!
Don, Bob, Thomas and Joe:
Thank You very much for Your kind feedback.
Joe:
I usually use Tamiya Acrylics for painting. For the Dark Earth a mix of XF-52 and XF-64 was used. The Dark Green is one of Tamiya´s mini bottles called XF-81. For the lower part XF--21 was used. All paints were lightened with white according to the small scale effect. Concerning the underside, I read, that early mohawks had the British Sky color and later ones had a greyish tone. Hope, this will help.

40 years of model building and this is my first Spitfire. More photos in the
campaign gallery. The kit (Eduard's 1/48) was a pleasure to build.

Thanks all for watching my links. The reason I choose to use these links is that the Internet is at lousy state in Thailand for sharing pictures from the Bucket. Another reason is that my configurations are so much different nowadays, used to MS, now working with A. No camera, etc... This all will be different within a month, so for the time being...
This is what I'm up to now. Waiting for masks from Maketar and some other stuff to finish the build. It is for sure that this campaign got me hooked on Japanese planes. 2 other project on the role, from which the SWS Mitsubishi is already on my shelf. Rufe could be my second entry to this campaign, depends on the schedules.

Some more close up pictures will follow in a couple of days. With a little work done over the weekend, it is now waiting for some final material I need. So far it was an enjoyable build. As from Christmas eve up to now, some 15 working days were spent on this build.
From my point of view I set some new standards, which means I've crossed some borders in different using materials and techniques. Will make a longer report on this.
Kind regards,

Very nice work!
Glad to see you're getting the hang of posting pictures, Robert Jan. Looking forward to you telling us more about the extensive paint chipping.

This might be part one of how to chip 2.0, because that is what said to my brother(watching me getting nuts).
First build the plane, with loads of aftermarket. All closed. What comes next...a little primer. I use Mr. Paint black primer. Silk and very thin. For the chipping there're loads of fancy fluids and techniques. I decided to use AK True Metal Wax(Silver) as undercoat.
The famous NMF?
To apply with a brush?
It works step by step, panel lines are limits.
Let that cure and maybe rework on details.
Mine did a week of curing. Then I started to track all panel lines with a scriber. Polish, polish, polish. 2400 - 4000 - 8000 grit Sankyo Diamond Quality from Japan(and what a coincidence, latest company I worked for in Europe).
It"s wax, so spray paint on a waterbase, will it stand? AK Paint set forJapanese Navy did.
Worked, so I was very pleased with the results. More later...
Kind regards,
Robert Jan
