So it is where i am at this point. Start working on painting bottom areas. first coat of weathering. base color
Now i am going to put a base color 50/50 with white to make it lighter, then 50/50 with black. And at the end just base color to cover all up. First time i am using that technique so i will se how it will look...
will keep you guys posted

1st coat of paint is on, and decals are done. The markings are from a company called Third Group. I bought them years ago, but they went on perfectly and you wouldn't know they were around 12 years old or more. The turret stars are supposed to be incomplete.

Hi mates,
my Lightning is near the finish line.
Decals are on, but at the rudders they came off partly.
I'll try to fix that with the german equivalent of Future...
Guns and canopy come last.
Should make it to the deadline

Because I couldn't leave well enough alone, I managed to finish the second kit for this campaign, the Kawanishi N1K1 floatplane.
And here next to it's landlubbing brother the N1K1-ja

Paint is done (no decals on this bird). Needs a flat coat, the prop and spinner added, antenna, and that'll about do it. Off today and the weekend, so I expect I'll be done shortly.

Quoted TextOkay, I've uploaded my photos to Kitmaker, but how to I get them into the campaign gallery?
Matt,
Go to the campaign gallery, look in the upper right hand corner and see if you're logged in. If not, do so. If so, click on the "upload photos" link and follow the instructions. This will actually call for you to upload directly from your computer, since the gallery is separate from your personal gallery and can't upload from there. Hope that helps!
Michael
Done and done!
I was going about it backwards - I uploaded them to my gallery and figured I was supposed to then essentially 'tag' them into the campaign gallery.

Well, My KATE did not work out very well...
After I painted the Green upper surfaces when I spray future on it got all gross and ruined the paint.
SO I ran it under hot water to remove the Future and it removed some of the paint as well.
So I will try and finish it up by the 15th now that this has been extended.
But in the mean time, I did finish the Zero

Mike, your Ki84 looks great and I will blame you for causing me to but that kit. LOL
Peter, good job on the P-38. I could not make out the nose art, what was the pilot of this a/c?

Well there was a slim chance that I could get this finished before the deadline. Then I saw that I missed a float

Hi Bob, thanks, and the airplane is from
80th FS, 8th FG (Lt. Allen Hill), 1944. You can check the nose art better in the gallery.
